The radiant heating floor installation in the addition bathroom (see figure) turned out to be a VERY negative experience. Mr Pippos insisted many times that the installation of the radiant floor had to be done before installation of insulation and blue board, so we patiently waited that he came back from his vacations to install insulation and blueboards in the entire addition. After installing a Suntouch Warmwire system we asked Mr Pippos how to protect the thin wire from possible damage. He told us ONLY to pay attention to the audible alarm (see figure). Nevertheless I decided to protect the floor with a vinyl mat. The wire was damaged anyway and Mr Pippo's wanted to charge us for another 4 hours of work! When we called Suntouch and sent them the drawings they thought that only 1-hour would be needed. I felt that this negligence in helping us to protect the warmwire product was part of Mr Pippo's plan to ask for more money for a second installation. I found out later that the warmwire manual explicitly recommends installing a plywood floor on top of the warmwire. When we called Mr Pippos he was extremely belligerent, and told us that he had similar fights with clients and that he would only come after paying in advance with a Bank check! We paid him more than $2,000 and his electric radiant heating will need to be completely scraped and redone. Furthermore, when Mr Pippos work was inspected by other installers, they found that the work was performed poorly since the wires were not secured every 6" but were completely loose (see figures)
Description of Work: Installation of a standby Briggs & Stratton Home Generator System and an electric floor radiant heating in a new construction bathroom. Problems were with the latter installation.
