He was terrific! The price was very reasonable. Not only did he do roofing for us, he also did exterior repairs. It was part of the job that he did for us/ part of the same contract. His carpentry skills were excellent as well.

Very well overall.  It took awhile to get on Robert's schedule.  But when his crew arrived to do the work it was done professionally and quickly.  Robert led his own crew.  We have an old house; one of the requests made was that if he found rotten wood or otherwise that needed to be fixed and/or replaced to make the house water tight - he was to fix it.  He did a very good job; he went out of his way to explain little things that had to be fixed.   He took on a tough job and completed it within his original budget. I found that I could trust him to do what needed to be done.

My experience with them was good. It took them two or three days to complete the work. The value of the work as compared to the price was good.

In 2013 Bob Green had replaced the roof and wooden gutters on my 1700s house and had done a professional and thorough job. At that time his price was in the middle of the three quotes I had received. He quoted using Certainteed Landmark Pro shingles. I had asked about using Landmark TL, and he recommended using the Landmark Pro due to the post and beam construction of the roof and that the TLs would probably be too heavy and not necessary as they both have the same warranty. I went with his recommendation (Landmark Pro) and have been very happy with the result.
His crew were very professional on the job site, arrived when scheduled, and kept the jobsite very clean.
In September 2014, I asked him to provide a quote for replacing the roof and fascia boards on my octagonal barn. His quote was the middle of the two quotes I received and having been pleased with his work the first time I used him again. At the same time he replaced the worn out copper gutter above the entryway.
As in the first job, his crew was very professional, arrived when scheduled and kept the jobsite very clean. After the first day on the job, just after he had left, I noticed that he had left staging up, which would have been a potential hazard for the horses that I board. I called him immediately, and his crew turned around and came right back to remove the staging - very prompt customer service.
The quality of his work is excellent, his crew is professional and courteious, and his prices appear to be the median. I would recommend him for any roofing and gutter work.

Very quick to respond and he gave fair bid - was the middle bidder of three bids. Window from Harvey took a lot longer to receive than what was presented to us. We insisted on a Harvey or Anderson window and the start of the project was delayed for four weeks because the window hadn't been delivered. Once the project started he put in long days and even weekends to complete the project. He was honest and hard working and we would definitely use him again.

Extremely courteous, professional, and hard-working. We trusted him implicitly in going through our options. He pointed out options we had not considered that saved us money, even though he made less by it. Excellent communication throughout. He also worked well with the painters who were working on his heels, as it were.

Pre-job: insisted on doing job during winter despite our questions. Delivered several pallets of shingles to our driveway in Feb. We insisted on waiting until spring to take our roof off! Once started, job seemed to go okay except for myriad roofing nails left on ground - scoured around house multiple times to make sure I got them all since I had young children. New roof looked good. Problems: 1) Massive leaking along line where a vertical wall intersected roof. Guy who did repair said a waterproof underlayment should have been used, and that the overlapping edge flashing had gaps in it (allowing water to enter. $2500 in replacing insulation and repairing and replastering ceilings and walls. 2) When gutters were cleaned, they discovered long section on front edge of roof that did not have metal strip under last row of shingles. $250. 3) Charged me $280 to remove ice dam from problematic part of roof in 1). Never had ice dams in 7-8 years in house with previous roof. 4) Skylights still leaked. 4) A couple of years ago got large black streaks on roof. I was told it was mildew. Never had a problem with it with previous roof which was older when it was replaced than the new one when the mildew became noticeable. I believe it may have been caused again by insufficient flashing or otherwise insufficient waterproofing (moisture retained by or under shingles)
The main difficulty in rating a roofing job is that the problems may not show up for several years, especially if you have some mild winters, so even if the roofer shows up when scheduled, finishes on time and is neat, you can't tell from initial appearance of house whether it was a good job. I know Bob Greene still does a lot of work in Lexington but I would never use him again.
My real estate agent who used him for her house and recommended him later regretted it too.

They gave me a fair quote.  It wasn't the cheapest or wasn't the most expensive.  They are very professional.  They came in and gave me an accurate quote of what it was going to cost & what it was.  They did the roof and did the siding where they had to remove it.  I thought the roof was still leaking, but they found out that it was an old bubble.  The guy came out personally and checked on it.  He told me what the issue was and what needed to be done.  He was very professional about it.  The roof hasn't leaked at all since then.  The price was reasonable.

We were happy with all phases of the job, from estimate to completion.
The person that came out to the house to gather information for the estimate was very professional and provided a lot of information about the work that they do and why.

Bob gave us a fair price of $6,700, but it was too much for our budget, so he worked with me to suggest modifications (e.g., 30 year shingles instead of 40 year).  We agreed on $5,900. He came when promised and finished the same day - he had said it might take two.  Great clean-up, brought his own dumpster for our rotted cedar shakes.  He even patched a corner of the garage - sheathing, facia boards and studs - at no extra charge, though the contract clearly said that we would be charged for same. Very generous and well done.  I've used him before, and his work is excellent.

They did a good job. I spent about $2000. I read the reviews on Angie’s List before I called them. They had very good ratings and that is the reason that I called them and they were one of the few companies that stated that they did slate. I haven’t got a leak since they came out. Overall, I am very pleased with what they did but somebody wrote that they were hard to get a hold of and I found that to be true. At first, they came right out but then there was a long time before I actually got a quote, other than that they have done great. I have had no problems. They cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

I can't say enough about there service.  Excellent.  AND, they did it during the winter.  He keeps a crew going all year.  I was very impressed. Once the snow melted, they came back to clean up the yard of debris, including nails.

We've gotten alot of compliments on this roof and we think this is due, for the most part, to the exceptional professionalism and workmanship of Robert Green and his employees.

Robert Green was contracted to replace cedar roof, which was still performing well,but clearly needed replacing. His quote was not the lowest I received, but given his references and ratings from Angies List, as well as driving out to Lexington to view his work, I decided to go with his bid. Once he agreed to do the work, I could not get him on the phone to schedule a date for him to start work. After a month or so, he called back and said when he would be starting. On the day the work was to begin he and his crew arrived early in the morning and worked until it was dark. This continued the following day as well. The roof looked absolutely fantastic, and the cost was exactly was quoted --no surprises there. I was very very pleased. ...Months later when spring was approaching, and the snow on the roof began to melt water began pouring into my attic, and I mean pouring! I was collecting about 10 gallons in water each day for several days. When I finally talked to him on the phone (when he got around to calling me back) He blamed the chimney, when clearly the water was entering the house around the perimeter of the chimney. I reminded him that my chimney didn't used to leak, he said "I doubt that!". I was finally able to convince him to send someone out to look at it, and the schmeered a tub of caulking around it, making it look horrid! Fine, I call a mason to work on the chimney and fast forward to this winter. Same thing... leaked like a sieve. I have attempted to contact him a good dozen times, and he will not return my phone call. If you are wondering whether or not the man will actually honor his guarantee, then keep looking. There are other highly rated roofers on this site and others.

I was very happy with the professionalism, quality and speed. They arrived at 7 each day and worked until after sunset (In December). I had gone with them because of my neighbor's recommendation (they had done a complete re-roofing) that they were the best in the area and completely trustworthy.
