Guerrieo Home Remodeling

We hired Chris Guerrieo to be our contractor for our kitchen remodel. He was fantastic: organized, responsive, did a large part of the work himself. The electricians and plumbers he brought in were similarly consummate professionals. Chris began when he said he would and gave us a reasonable timeline. The kitchen was done within 7 weeks. Chris arranged for a dumpster in our driveway and every day the clean up was complete. We had a design of the new kitchen from a designer and we asked the two of them to come to our home so they could meet and look at the designs together. They worked together very well and also stayed in touch throughout the project. Our old kitchen was demolished and a non-weightbearing wall was taken down between the kitchen and dining room. We had our 1950s linoleum floor and wallpaper removed and white oak floors were installed to match our living room and dining room floors. At every juncture, at every question, Chris was in touch with us. We needed to upgrade our electrical wiring - we weren't surprised to hear that - and the cost was reasonable. Chris installed the new cabinetry, hardware, new appliances, tile backsplash, painted, and arranged for the lighting and under cabinet lighting. It was all done carefully and excellently. Everyone worked extremely well together and Chris is definitely an expert and meticulous contractor and builder.. He went the extra distance to keep everything clean and orderly. He also ensured that the new appliances, before installing, were safely on top of material to prevent any scratches. Chris performed a very good job. There were some small delays, but overall the work was done according to plan and with a very high level of professionalism. Chris worked with the plasterer to create an arch between the kitchen and the dinning area so that it matches the rest of the floor. This attention to details made the final project look great. Pricing was reasonable. There were a couple of change orders added, but they were either initiated by us, or unanticipated complications (really old house had some surprises). On the other hand, when there was extra work to fix things that didn't come out exactly as planned Chris did that without charging extra. He was also very accommodating on working with our flooring person, which helped us reduce price. He worked with us to figure our the scheduling. Overall, we are very happy with the work and with the final result.

Splendidly!! Chris was a joy to work with. He came immediately to give us an estimate. Once he started the job, he worked until it was finished. His estimate was spot on, as was his time estimate. He and his team did a fabulous job, were punctual, pleasant and professional, and his price was the best around.

Chris came out to the house and took measurements of our kitchen for a remodel job we are planning.  He took our ideas and with suggestions from him, came up with a beautiful and workable floor plan and rendered 3-D pictures for us, plus a full set of measurements for the plans.  We could not be happier with the results and now we have a nicely rendered visualization that we can use to further plan our kitchen.

We were very pleased with the remodeling work that Chris Guerrieo did on our only full bathroom. Chris and his team worked quickly and efficiently, and he stuck to timelines. We were particularly impressed with Chris's grasp of the dimensions and his ability to figure out how various pieces would go together. This way, there were no surprises along the way. Things ended up looking exactly as Chris said they would. This was a daunting task in our situation because we wanted to fit a lot into our relatively small space. Chris is also a skilled communicator. Whenever we had any questions, Chris responded very quickly and addressed them without delay. We always knew exactly where things were in the remodeling process and what would happen that week. We love our bathroom and would hire Chris again in a heartbeat.

I liked that he was upfront about not giving costs until we could sit down again without some drawings. Was very flexible with the ideas that we(wife and I) were throwing at him. Never once did he say, "Can't/won't do that". Gave some great ideas he asked us to think about. Talked about bringing the kitchen up to code. (The house was built in the 20's!)
 Overall my wife was very happy (it was a birthday present)with Chris and we look forward to meeting him with some 3d drawing in the near future.

The project went very well. I cannot say enough great things about the quality of his work. He himself had done the tile which was done with precision and accuracy. He turned an ugly bathroom into an awesome bathroom!

This is the second time I have worked with Chris -- last time he took a bathroom down to the studs and remodeled it -- and I continue to be impressed by him in every way.  He was responsive to emails and calls, provided a detailed cost estimate (and came in slightly under budget, by the way!), and was happy to discuss alternatives when it came to materials, such as the relative advantages and expense of Trex or Aztek versus pressure treated wood.  This is a rental unit, and the tenants reported full satisfaction with Chris:  he showed when he said he would, worked quickly and cleanly, and created a fine-looking final product. I would add, finally, that Chris's estimate was lower than that of a few others I solicited, so his prices are as good as his services. I'm a satisfied customer; I've recommended Chris to others several times in the last few years and will do so again.

Chris is a great contractor to work with.  He was very punctual in coming out to look at the project and sending an estimate.  We were concerned with being without a shower for several weeks because we have only one shower in the house.  Chris said that he could install the tub and tile surround first to get that functional before doing the rest of the project.  That meant we were only without a shower for about a week.  Chris was also very helpful in providing suggestions for the type of tub, shower head, and medicine cabinet.  Whenever I had a question, he responded very quickly.  I would definitely recommend Chris to friends, and I would certainly work with him again.

We were very happy with Chris and his team.  The kitchen came out beautifully and everything was done professionally and carefully.  Chris and his team do very high quality work.  Chris was a pleasure to work with.  He always explained what he was doing and what the timeframe would be for each part of the project.  He was always responsive to emails and phone calls so we could always get our questions or concerns addressed.  Kitchen remodels are obviously disruptive but with Chris, it was as 'pleasant' an experience as you could hope to have!  He went the extra mile as well to ensure that our refrigerator was delivered when the delivery people were ready to give up on getting it into our apartment.  All in all, we would definitely use Chris again and highly recommend him.

I have  employed Chris as my general contractor over a period of 15 years. He is a very straightforward, honest man with a good head on his shoulders. He employs good people under him and has great morale among his crew.  He is personally versatile. He  came up with good ideas to solve problems that arose with old houses and unexpected twists and turns.

Our house was built in 1986 and the windows in the main section were showing signs of age and rotting on the sills.

At first we responded to a TV advertisement by one of the leading national brand replacement companies. A representative came to the house and gave us a hard sell on their window replacement service. After he left, he provided us with a quote which was ridiculously high in price. We knew we would either live with the old windows or try to find a better price from another contractor.

GHR had previously done a stellar job tiling our upstairs master suite bathroom. When done it had beautiful patterns in it that gave it a very luxurious and expensive look. Since we were very happy with the price and results of that project, we decided to reach out again and see if GHR could replace our windows.

GHR came to the house, examined the work to be done, consulted with us on what brand and type of windows we would like the replacements to be. After a couple days, they provided us with a price quotation and we were pleasantly surprised. It was much, much lower than the quotation we received from the major national brand. We then decided to move ahead with the windows replacement project.

GHR scheduled a convenient time with us to do the work. Their crew showed up on-time, early in the morning and worked all day to complete the project. Having watched them work, it was obvious they were true professional craftsmen that take pride in their work.

The windows are straight and true. The sills are nicely rounded and integrated into the window openings. All the small cracks were sealed so there isn't a possibility of cold wind blowing in around any of them.

Aside from the craftsmanship shown by GHR, the windows themselves are the best windows we have ever installed in our house. Since we built the house in three stages, we have a variety of expensive windows from major brands you would recognize. We've had issues with these from poor seals to flimsy window pane grills. Not so with the windows GHR recommended and installed. These windows move up and down with silky smooth ease. They look great and insulate well. GHR obviously knew what they were doing when they recommended these windows.

When GHR finished installing the windows, they cleaned up the work site and left it spotless.

I have given this contractor very high ratings for a reason. I hope from this writeup you can understand why. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend GHR to any friend or family. They are top notch.

Chris was SUPERB to work with: this is the best experience with a contractor we've ever had. His detailed, promptly delivered estimate was considerably lower than the 3 other contractors who gave us quotes, and his work was uniformly of excellent quality. He did everything he said he would and more; he was always punctual; he was incredibly clean and neat (and even took care to relocate furniture he had to move into convenient locations -- and to put it back when the job was done); and he's just a nice guy. He was also extremely responsive: while he always answered calls, we usually kept in touch by email, and notes sent at night after work received an answer in the morning. We would use Chris again in a minute.
