Jim was very pleasant to work with. I called first on Saturday October 11th inquiring on price for a cord of wood after our previous provider backed out at the last minute. Jim gave a fair price and was very up-front that this late in the season, the wood he had was only aged 4 months. Regardless, we went with Jim and arranged delivery for Saturday 10/18 to our home in Bedford. Jim delivered right on time, even adjusting his delivery time after we called earlier in the morning to inform him we'd be out later than expected that day and wanted to push back the delivery time. Definitely will go with Jim next year as well.

Returned my calls quickly. The wood quality was great and the price was fair. He's currently my source for all things firewood.

Prompt and responsive and delivered per agreed upon date and time that was mutually convenient. Firwood was clean and dry - high quality. High marks for service and quality.

I'm writing this review because James conducts his business well.  He takes pride in his business and wants to make sure his customers are happy.  We had some kiln-dried wood delivered, and unfortunately, it was a little wet.  I contacted James and he immediately apologized and worked with me to figure out a remedy.  The seasoned wood he brought over was fantastic.  I think what really exemplifies his commitment to his clients is that instead of just dumping the replacement wood and leaving, he took the time to ring the doorbell, chat with me and make sure I was satisfied with the arrangement.  From the initial inquiry on pricing, James has been very communicative, responding to my emails quickly and delivering the next day.  He may need a new kiln-dried wood supplier, but his seasoned wood is excellent.  Given the quality of his seasoned wood and the way he runs his business, I'm happy to give him a good review.

Delivered within a day or two of my initial call to schedule. Firewood is clean and hardwood, exactly as promised.

James with Firewood, Inc. quickly returned my email when I requested information regarding his firewood business. I requested a price for small pieces of firewood to fit into our wood burning stove. Happily, there was no price difference. James arrived on time and dumped the firewood exactly where I requested, so it would be easier to stack in the backyard. His price beats all the other companies I contacted and the firewood is great, well seasoned and nice size pieces to fit perfectly in the wood burning stove.

We ordered a cord of "air dried" firewood. It came the next day as promised, and the guy Jim was very cheerful.. It is not 100% ready to burn, but should be ready by this fall (this is typical for all the "seasoned" or "air dried" firewood we have ordered over the years). The wood was clean, with no oversize pieces, and actually was split into smaller diameter pieces than other companies, which I think will work out well

Jim returned my call after I left a couple of messages. The quantity was right on(I stacked and measured.) Overall I am happy with the quality of the wood. The majority of it looked like good, seasoned wood. That said, a few pieces were a bit spongy, there was a small amount of debris/dirt on some of the wood(Jim commented that he tries to avoid this, but if it is wet when the wood is split, it's hard to avoid), and there were some bugs as well, but this is September, not December, so this is also expected. When I had my first fire, it took a bit to start. The wood popped and cracked a bit, and hissed pretty consistently, however once a good coal base formed, it burned just fine. I expect that when it fully dries out it will be fine.

I think that the wood was a very good deal overall. I tend to be much pickier than most. Given it's firewood and there is a lot of variability, it's hard to say my assessment would be universal. The wood was delivered 2 days after Irene blew through, which could account for the wood being a bit wet, and since it's still warm, that would explain the bugs.

Jim was very friendly and professional, delivered on a weeknight (and drove through rush hour traffic to get to my house), and took a personal check. He also didn't charge me an additional delivery fee for being further away because it took him a couple of days to return my call. I would feel comfortable buying firewood from Jim again.
