Eurostoves

It was a horrific experience. The stove was as expected but the hood was not - this is a nearly $6,000 piece of equipment, non-returnable because it's and quot;custom madeand quot; (you simply pick a stock style of hood and a stock color - it's made to order, not custom made). Trevor Lawson worked with our kitchen designer (who brought along a piece of our cabinetry) to match the color of the hood to the cabinets, crucial to the project. The color samples are on aprpox. 2and quot;x1and quot; pieces of paper (for a hood that is +48and quot; and stainless steel). With Trevor Lawson's help, a color was chosen however when the hood came in several weeks later, it didn't closely resemble the cabinets. I called Trevor early that evening to explain the problem and to see what could be done. He was belligerent, dropped the and quot;fand quot; word frequently, and accused me of trying to get out of a $6,000 order, a small amount in the scheme of the entire renovation project (and after we had paid +$10,000 for a stove). Unknown to me at the time but later known as my husband drove to Eurostove that same evening to get the sample, Trevor Lawson was intoxicated while on the phone with me (he had hosted a cooking class earlier that evening). When my husband returned with the sample, we put it up against the hood and proved that it wasn't even close. We took several pictures which we sent to Trevor Lawson and ModernAire - in an email response from Trevor Lawson, he retorted that he does not and quot;accept responsibility for matching the cabinets. EVERYONE [his emphasis] knows that a paint sample is not the exact to what it could be made in.and quot; He said we could send it back to ModernAire for a repaint but at a cost of $800.00 to us plus whatever costs to have it properly packaged in foam and boxed (no easy feat). We declined and had it repainted locally at our expense. My advice to Trevor Lawson and ModernAire - put samples on much larger stainless steel pieces, 12and quot; x 12and quot; so as to be more true to what the final product will look like and allow returns for products that you screw up, oh and don't talk to customers after having a few cocktails.

It is a nice, personal class size. They have a good variety of different styles of food. I pay $85 per class.

I highly recommend them. I thought the price was high.

This was a novel experience! I had researched new gas ranges on-line, visited appliance showrooms, asked tons of questions. I looked at blogs and was confused at all the conflicting 'I love my high end appliance vs. I hate my high end appliance" reports. In one blog, a repair person mentioned the Blue Star ranges, that they were built like tanks, and were the most reliable (above Wolf/Viking/others) to be found. The only outlet for these around here is Eurostoves, so to Eurostoves I headed. I had never purchased any item of great cost other than a car, that I was allowed to 'test drive" the product. At my first visit to Eurostoves I was amazed. They have a large showroom of every range you could think of, all in that one large room, and they are all actively used. Eurostoves encourages individuals to try out the ranges before purchasing one, recognizing that a 'good fit' is needed. Trevor explained the features of the Blue Star, and invited me back to cook on it when I was ready---yes! actually bring food and cook it on a stove I wanted to purchase. So my next trip up to Eurostoves was a 3 hr adventure. With the assist of Trevor and 3 other cooks (one the owner) I was able to test the simmer burner with chicken soup, on the 22,000 btu burner we made stir fry vegs in a wok, we used the overn to make cookies, and another woman looking at a Blue Star made broiled salmon in the other oven of the same range while making sauteed onions on a 15,000 btu burner. After a very tasty lunch, I purchased the 6 burner model, decided on the range hood, and bought a 2 drawer last year model dishwasher (at a discount) at that visit. We needed a 4-6 week time frame for delivery and this fit very well with my kitchen remodel plans. I am ever so happy with my gas range. I have used it so far mostly for soups, fish, and my favorite, baking cookies and homemade bread and they've all come out perfectly. I love it. The burners/grates are all cast iron and heavy! I can see why that blogger called it a tank. Eurostoves gives rountine classes in various cooking styles and have a monthly schedule of events. Summers are aimed at classes for kids during the day. Who knew you could have so much fun at an appliance store.
