TV Service - Cable, Internet Service + 1 more
I find them very expensive. We renegotiated the slightly lower rate, but it is killing us people that are retired for their long term services. They start you out at about $130 and then, they increase it $30 a year and it keeps on going. It is generally reliable. I personally find the internet slow. It depends on the amount of bandwidth they have and who is streaming what in your area. I would consider staying with them as long as the price is reasonable.

They’re usually pretty good to deal with when they have to go here and they have something to change or fix.

No glitches. Went smoothly. I swapped the modems. No Comcast rep came to the house.

TV Service - Cable
Very hard to get the transaction done and was called within two weeks to "upgrade" my service back to what I had . I refused and was surprised by an email stating that I had requested an upgrade !!! Needless to say , I had to call and get that changed . Very much a hassle!

I just moved to the Boston area, and had another provider for years. The Comcast salesperson offered a free install and made an appointment for me. Turns out, the company never got the message about either promise, and so the install did not happen on the day promised, and it was not free. Service is spotty. At times the tv signal disappears, and phone messages do not show up until the next day. All in all, I'm thinking of getting a different provider.

They are always switching things around. When we have a problem, they don't respond very well. We bought in a new TV and we were having problems with it, it was shutting itself off and on, it wasn't the TV but later on we found that it was the cable. They had to straighten something at their end for the new TV and that went on for months until they finally straightened that out. The price is always going up, which is another thing with them. If we had a choice, we wouldn't use them.

I'm very happy with Comcast. I switched to them from another provider because I'm getting the same bundle at a lot less money.

I think all the service providers are the same. My earlier provider gave me a good bargain and now they are going up with their price, so I might as well go to somebody else is what I thought and moved to them. They are all the same and they give me a good deal to get me hooked in.

The service was free. They are a good service. They are responsive, and they are pretty quick to take charges off when my service doesn't work. The bundling is a little bit expensive but it is a better deal than getting things singly. It works well and it works fast, and those are things I care about. The price is where they fall down a little.

I thought they were very professional and responsive. They typically showed up on-time, if they were not on-time then they would call me and let me know.

For the most part I'm happy with the service. They're not great but they are better than the others. Their the best of all the evils.

TV Service - Cable
I set on the Cable Commission in my community. I used to work with the company that built the system 25 or 30 years ago. I am an engineer by trade and education. They are a monopoly in the area because they are the only provider of cable tv service in the city. The fact that they carry the signal is the only thing that I like about them. I dislike that customer service is in Mexico. With deregulation their rates are unrealistic for the quality of service that they provide. There is a lot of garbage on the stations. I don't like the way that they present the FCC reporting to the locals. I don't lose service very often. I don't like the waiting on the voicemail and that the people don't speak English. You ask for the same thing 3 times and then they ask you what you want and then they won't transfer you to the local office. They are forcing everyone to go from analog to digital and they will make more money with the digital converter boxes. They sent a letter saying that you could get the box for free. I got the box and then got a bill. It was supposed to be free. They said they made a mistake which I don't believe. They did correct the problem of incorrect billing by me bringing it up in a commission meeting. They charge a lot for people that don't have other options. I understand the expense of running the system and upgrading, but I don't approve of it. I will continue to use them because unfortunately I don't have any other choices.

When I call and complain, they tell me that they will credit me. The credit does not show up on my bill. They tell me that I have to unplug the modem, unplug the wireless, say three Hail Mary's and plug it back in again. I understand that happens sometimes but I have to do it two or three times a month. They usually do respond but I'm paying a hundred and fifty dollars a month for this service. I think that they are bandits.
