A.C. Castle Roofing

Installation was quick and no mess was left. Some details that were discussed in the quote were not met in actuality (replacing aluminum siding where removed). Overall, the install went smoothly and we were mostly satisfied. We were newly 1st time home owners at the time.
9 years later and we discovered a leak in two of the roofs. The underlayment was saturated with water and there were signs that the flashing had not been installed properly to begin with. I called and after some discussion (and a lot of research on my part), we reached an agreement on the necessity for warranty repair. The crew came out and replaced the roofing on the two roofs. They did a much better job this time and additional securing of the vertical roofing material was installed, as it should have been during the original install. We are very happy with the repair.

The gentleman on the phone at AC Castle quoted us $500 for half a house ($1000 for whole house) snow and ice dam removal.  When the crew showed up a different guy said it was $300 a side (4 sides) and wouldn't budge and didn't know about the phone quote.  So we paid the $600.  When we called to complain we got the phone guy again and when I explained that they were giving us two different prices based on two different metrics (whole or half house vs. quarter of house) his response was that it was expensive to pay and insure his crew.  Wrong answer.

Bottom line is that these guys were quick to respond and showed up on time and did the job, which took them by the way only 25 minutes.  But they come across as price gougers when two different people at the same company are giving two different quotes.  They need to get their act together.  We wouldn't work with them again.

After checking out many reviews on the BBB and Angies List and knowing folks who have used A C Castle Roofing in the past I made the decision that I should myself use them for my new roof. Having just purchased this home I was concerned that I wanted the best and most reliable roof I could get. I called the owner, Brian about a quote that had been provided before I owned the home and made sure it was still accurate as it was over two months old, he explained to me it was and I sent the 1/3 down payment. Once the check was received it was literally 4 days until the roof was complete, Brian told me it would take his team only a day to complete, and he was correct.
At 7:30AM right on the nose an army of roofers descended upon my house and moved patio furniture, put tarps down on the lawn and on all the landscaping, and moved items that may be damaged in the process. When I got home at 5PM it was like they were never there. Brand new roof, cleaned gutters and not a scrap of roof or nail to be found. They even hosed down the house and put everything back where it was before I left.
The crew that came in the morning were extremely friendly and let me know what they would be doing, they assured me that they would do their very best to make sure none of the mature bushes and landscaping would be damaged, but of course they could not promise no damage due to the nature of falling debris.
I must say, the price was great, the roof looks fantastic, and the professionalism and responsiveness was very good. Brian explained everything in detail for me and I am a very happy customer.

They came right away before the weather turned and before it rained. It rained the day after the job was done and it did not leak...... :)

They say that they will do your roof in just a day, and they almost did. They sent an army of workers that finished about 98% of the work in a day and then for the next two weeks we had just a single guy come buy working away, being noisy and ladders and gear all over the place.

Plus, there were NAILS ALL OVER THE DRIVEWAY!!!!!

I actually had to replace 2 of my tires because nails got in them...so that's another couple of hundred dollars right there.

Plus out gutter cleaning company told us later that some of the roof was already coming up at the edges and that was just a year later.

Finally, another person in my building saw the owner of the company parking in a handicap stop to run in and do an errand at a store. Who does that?

They provided the service at a good price and did exactly what they said they would do. They came on time and got it done in one day. They cleaned up, they went above what I was hoping for. They should definitely been in the conversation when considering using a roofer.

Outstanding firm to do business with. They were fast - always cleaned up each night. Their work was great - and when a freak winter storm hit and tore some shingles away....they were there same day I called to set up repair. Done within 48 hours. I cannot recommended them more! best price, best service!

This crew is FAST. They arrived and really went to town, but it was all done very professionally, and they cleaned up after themselves, which was important to me, since I have animals, and did not want them stepping on an errant nail.

The job they did was both good and bad. They took eleven days to finish a job which would take a day and a half. They just kept coming and going. We had no communication with them. I was not aware of things most of the time. They had poor communication with their own people and they had no idea. Couple of guys were good and the rest of the just sat around. I will not use them again.

The price was fair. They did a good work. They did it all in one day. They came, did the work, and they left. The time frame of the work done was one day. They stripped it, put a new one on, and finished everything. They did it pretty quickly.

They did a great job and the result was outstanding. They also did a good job cleaning up. I've recommended them to my friends.

We were taking on water upstairs in our 19th century home during severe rainstorms. AC Castle got back to us quickly, gave us the best price by far and got the job done in very challenging conditions. I can't comment on the quality of the work yet, because we haven't had a big rainstorm, but it certainly looks good. Our only complaint would be professionalism. We asked AC Castle to stay in touch with us throughout the process, letting us know when work would begin. That didn't happen. In fact, the mason came and went without us knowing that the work on the chimney had been done until we called to ask for a status report. That said, I'd recommend AC Castle without reservation. There aren't a lot of companies that will do major roofing and chimney work in December. We're happy with the service and the price.

They were very good. The owner was right there on the project site everyday. They also hand nail.

Called for a quote, the owner, Brian, responded and came when he said he would. I had a lot of questions about how he would work with the old wood gutters and was concerned about what would happen when they came off. Brian sat with me and drew out what his plans were. He stopped by the following day with a list of houses he did in my area, and a list of references. Once I signed the contract the materials were delivered the following day. His crew showed up the day after that. They worked two full days from before 8 until after 6. A smaller crew came after that to rake up debris. Am very happy with work done. They were quick and professional. Brian could not have been more responsive. Always called back within 15 minutes. I wasn't completely happy with the color of the ridge shingles. Brian came over to look at it. Worked with his supplier, and in a few days it was fixed and perfect. He was great to work with. I was nervous to go with the lowest quote, but am glad I did.

This was a great experience. I called on a Friday morning to schedule a time for someone to come out for a quote. Ron had a tech in the Gloucester area, so he was able to call to get the tech to do that quote that morning. The quoted price was right in line with other quotes that we received, but what made us go with them was that Ron was able to schedule for the next day, Saturday morning. The techs showed up on time and did a nice job.

The initial quote (one of three we requested) was done quickly, with thorough explanation of probable additional repair costs for broken boards, etc. It was lowest estimate of three. Job was started as soon as we made down payment, and copy of insurance was provided. Nine roofers worked for first two days, and job was finished up the third day. Quality was excellent with proper waterproofing and anti-icing, and new fascia boards. All shingles hand nailed. Cleanup was thorough.
