Tony's been caring for this piano since we bought it in 2006 and for our upright Steinway for years before that. He always does an impeccable job. Besides having been a ace piano technician for the past 40 some odd years. He also studied how to play piano (I believe at New England Conservatory) before embarking on his successful piano tuning/repair career and has great empathy and understanding for what an accomplished piano artist (my wife) would need.
Description of Work: Tune, replace a broken string, and file the felts on the hammers of a older Steinway grand piano.

This was the second time he tuned my piano and the first tuning done last year was satisfactory. Thinking that he might have made an honest mistake this time, I contacted him and amicably requested that he please come to take a took when he was in my area. To my surprise, he told me he was standing by his work and I should go look for another tuner if I am not happy. I said he should at least come check on what he did before "standing by his work". His replies were how dare I question his tuning and since when I become an expert. My check to him on the day of tuning was cashed immediately after I started contacting him on the problem. We have two string players at home, one of whom is also a professional pianist. Both have no doubt that our piano is more out of tune than before he worked on it. The piano is a 10 years old Mason grand in excellent condition with an installed climate control system. We found the problem right after the "tuning" was performed, so there is no chance that it went out of tune naturally. Call Tony McKenna if you want to pay $125 to have your piano sounds more out of tune than its current state, and hear some insults at the same time!
Description of Work: I called Tony McKenna to tune my piano. My piano was more out of tune than before he worked on it. I hired him to tune my piano, not only that he did the reverse, he refused to rectify the problem and shamelessly kept the payment.
