It looks horrible. The cable is huge, it is not hidden by the shutters as Joe said it would be, and the two huge meters are in plain sight as you drive in the driveway. I feel the house has been scarred, and I am sure the property value suffers. Joe is supposedly a professional. Why did he not tell me, as the town electrical inspector did in a conversation after the damage was done, that all of this could have been done on the opposite corner of the house, where it all would have been hidden by the hedge, and where the wire would have entered the house directly? I think I know the answer to the question: it would have been cheaper. Joe just wanted to do it the most expensive way. Two telephone calls to him to discuss the problem resulted in his hanging up on me, with comments like "I'm done talking to you people." I obviously feel like I have been taken advantage of by one who is money oriented rather than customer oriented. Pass the word.
Description of Work: We needed to have the fuse box removed and a circuit breaker box installed, and the two meters (it's a two-family house) removed from the basement and installed on the outside of the house. Joe described to me how the work would be done. The town would drop a line to the house, and he would bring the big cable down the side of the house to the two new meters. He would hide it behind the shutters and it wouldn't look too bad. He would then drill through the house and snake the wire above the ceiling in the basement to the circuit breakers, which were on the diagonal back corner of the house. I don't question where my doctor is going to make the incision, and I did not question Joe's plan. I approved it, and he did it. That work was, in fact, accomplished. It's how it was accomplished that was the problem.
