J & S CARPET
About us
Owner Steve Messina began installing carpet and flooring at the age of 16 for his uncle. At age 20 he and his brother Joe started J&S carpet. With no actual store location at that point they did all their work from an old beat up truck they had spent all their money on. Since that time, J&S Carpet Co. Inc. has come a long way. Steve’s brother Joe decided to leave the business and join the police force, while Steve went on learning and growing in the carpet and flooring business. J&S Carpet Company’s strength lies in our ability to listen to our clients and meet their needs. We know that the key to a good business is outstanding customer service, and make that our priority. Together with our clients input, we have provided solutions to their carpet and flooring needs. Since 1970, we at J&S have strived to keep pace with the technical changes in the commercial and residential flooring marketplace. Beyond the selection process of the flooring product, we have established a rapport with our clients that has formed the foundation for an ongoing business alliance. We have provided flooring solutions in the greater Boston area to homes, school systems, major universities, large retail outlets, manufacturing facilities, restaurants and offices. There is no job that is too big or too small for us here at J&S Carpet Co. Inc. We hope you come visit our showroom, and look forward to meeting you.

The person who measures came out to do that and was quite pleasant. Then I heard nothing and emailed again and again. Finally I think I called and the quote was sent. I said yes and was given a rough time when the install would happen. It was delayed several times over a month. Then they started to install the wrong flooring. The wrong color had been sent by the manufacturer but it had also not been checked. I had to wait for it to be replaced.
When the install was done the grain of one step area was opposite to the rest of the flooring when the person who came to measure had explained how the grain would be all the same way. It also bubbled. There were other issues in the part of the floor that was in an old part of the house but I could live with them. The problem I wanted fixed was in a new part of the house where there could be no question about the quality of the basic slab. I called numerous times to get it fixed. The installer came to look but didn't have the right tools. I contacted the sales person to make another appointment. She said she would. I contacted her a few more times. She stopped responding. Perhaps she no longer works there and I am too exhausted with the whole process to go through yet another round of emails and phone calls.
I'm typically a low maintenance customer but this is a high maintenance supplier.
The job was done in a day (actually 1/2 a day). They were very neat and cleaned up after the job. The floor looks great! We have an old house and they did well with all the quirks of an old house (uneven flooring, not square rooms)
"We are glad you are happy with your floor! It was great working with you, and thank you for the review!"
"Sorry to respond so late, we just saw this! So glad that you were happy with our work and we really appreciate the review!"
