Very responsive. Spent a lot of time figuring out exactly what was needed to do the job right - running ductwork behind existing cabinets can be tricky. The job itself took a long time (hence the high price) but he did a really good job. It is very professional looking and works great.

He is fast, courteous and the work was performed in a professional manner.  I would definitely recommend HandyManRob.com to others.

It went pretty well but we really needed to manage him. He did a beautiful job but I felt that we had to do more daily management to make sure that we got the product we wanted. His work was nice but we had to invest more time in it. I would probably give him work again but I would prefer him to check in on a regular basis.

Rob is very personable and the interview/estimate session went well. Once work began, Rob was infrequently seen. We would explain to Rob that we wanted something done a certain way, for instance we wanted the screens on the upper porch to be screwed into place for easy removal. They were nailed into place by a worker because of poor communication within Rob's team. We wanted the ceiling of the downstairs porch painted white and Rob was informed. It was painted with the same cola-colored stain that was used on the porch's trim. Very few of Rob's employees speak English as the majority of them are Brazilian. In the end, the quality of the porch was very dissapointing, although it looks much better than the old decaying one. I would say that if you are looking to improve a home that you intend to stay in, find someone else. But if your intention is to improve cosmetically before selling, Rob may be your guy.

Rob and his team worked with us to get this remodel done as quickly as possible as one of the two units was going on the market to sell. They obtained all of the permits and brought the porches upmto code. Rob suggested materials to use to get the best result more economically. The finished job looks great!

They were okay. I asked them to plane the door and I feel that may have been a bit of a reach for the person they dispatched, because it wasn't as good as I was expecting. The person left his sweatshirt at my home. The person who answered the phone was good. They were pretty professional. I might use them again in the future.

Rob and crew did a very good job overall. There were a few minor hiccups on the job...there was a misunderstanding about who was pulling the building permit. Rob asked us to do it, and we both work long days, and asked if he could, and he said not to worry....turns out my husband had to take a day off work to straighten things out. When initially framing the stairs (not quite sure how to desscribe it), they were narrower than our original stairs, which was not what we wanted. We called Rob, and he was responsive, and he and his crew fixed the next day.

The actual deck building went well. The construction is fine. Rob did not supervise his workers very well and I don't think they knew much about what they were doing. The varnish on the deck is still sticky 2 years later.

Rob, along with the two men who worked for him, was terrific. He responded to my first call quickly, gave a clear, detailed written estimate, and committed to getting the job done within my tight window of time, which was right at the Christmas holidays. He even graciously agreed to do some additional tasks beyond the original contract and fit them seamlessly into the original time frame for completion. Rob himself is a pleasure to work with. He's good humored, competent, knowledgeable, organized, easy to discuss a project with, and easy to get in touch with. The job benefited substantially from his willingness to suggest alternate solutions, along with his reasoning for them, when he was concerned that something wasn't going to work well. Finally, he was cost conscious, warning me that one approach would be more costly than another, and letting me know when extra work I requested was going to be outside the original parameters we'd agreed on. His final bill was more than the original estimate, but because of the additions and substitutions I made, and was fair and reasonable.

I brought Rob in initially for the basement project. That went well so I had him do the bedroom project too. He was able to start the basement project the very next day after coming to estimate it. He and his crew arrived right on schedule. The name "Handyman Rob" sounds like one individual but really he has a crew of at least three more guys. He outsources things like plaster work to other companies. On the first day they removed the ceiling & wood, scrubbed the walls, scrubbed the floor, painted the walls, and applied the adhesive to the floor. They bagged and bundled the debris and stacked it neatly in back of the house for later removal by a third party. On the second day they poured the layer of concrete on top of the existing floor. While the concrete dried they worked on the bedroom project, then revisited the basement a few days later. They sanded a few rough spots on the floor and painted the floor. Overall the ceiling work and walls came out great. The floor came out as good as could reasonably be expected given the condition of the old floor underneath. The bedroom project went smoothly except for some minor surprises upon opening the walls. Plus the painting took a little longer than expected. Again, all debris was bundled or bagged and piled up neatly. Overall the plaster, trim and carpentry around the closet came out great. The painting was good except for what looks like fibers from the paint rollers that got into the paint and caused little bumps in a few places (note: I just noticed this last issue as they were on the way out the door; they may come back to resolve it). After everything was done except painting, Rob arranged a hauler to take away the debris (I paid the hauler directly, but I'm including that in the total project cost in this report). For the duration of the project, Rob & crew came every business day until it was done. They cleaned up at the end of each day. Everything went pretty smoothly overall.

Rob and crew were able to start right away, and immediately started taking down the old rotted porches. He used bagster to remove the debris, which we loved (not much room for a dumpster where we live). They did a beautiful job with the porches, and we selected mahogany decking and railings, etc. When they were framing/putting up the front stairs, they were narrower than we wanted. We called Rob, and he straightened it out, and we couldn't be happier. The final cost was a slight bit higher (approximately $1k) than Rob's original estimate, however, it was justified, and we couldn't be happier with our porches.

When they hung the screen door they hung it upside down but they offered to come and redo it. Everything else went well. They were very professional.

The rails on the staircase to our house had rotted to the point where they were no longer safe. At the bottom of the stairs are a pair of concrete steps, one of which was significantly shallower than the rest of the stairway. We talked to several contractors about a repair/replacement that included evening out the shallow concrete step. Robert provided the most reasonable solution and the price was right (one contractor tried to convince us to rebuild the whole staircase from scratch, to the tune of $15,000). Robert fit us into his schedule quickly, and the project went without a hitch. He was a pleasure to work with. He was friendly and responsive, and we are very happy with his work.

Rob returned my email inquiries very quickly, which is important because it's difficult for me to make phone calls during the day. He was flexible with his scheduling for both the estimate and the work. When the first scheduled day for the work didn't work out due to inclement weather, Rob scheduled his guys to do the work on a Saturday, which I appreciated. Rob sent two of his employees to do the work. They were a bit chatty and didn't always inspire the most confidence with their comments. They got the job done, and did so relatively quickly, which was important due to the cold temperature outside. Overall, the new door we have in place is much better than the previous door, though I'm a little disappointed with the height of the threshold that was left. They did a fair job considering what they had to work with though and I would consider them for future work if needed. I did think the price was a bit on the high side and would likely try to negotiate that down some.

Rob is GREAT! The deck is absolutely beautiful. I have people walking by complimenting it all of the time. He is very punctual for both initial meetings and when it comes time to do the work. His estimates for the amount of time it would require were right on. He was great at communication, calling frequently to give updates on the projects. The workmanship is top-notch. He and his team struggled to level an enterance way to install one of the storm doors (a job other handymen would not accept because the room and door jam were so off-square), but they did it and it looks great!

Rob sent two guys (brothers) they came in on time. I was missing a few items for some of the jobs so one of them came with me to Home Depot the other one stayed behind working. They were nice and easy going. The 1st day they couldn't finish everything so one of them came back a few days after to finish the job. Rob called a couple times while the guys were n my house to check ion them and asked to talk to me to ask me how did I think they were doing. I am happy with the overall job and will hire them again.

Rob came around to assess the work just a day after I emailed him and started on the first projects immediately when we had agreed on the price. The sash windows had been painted over and the sash cords left dangling by the previous owners. It took great effort to get them open but the whole process was done cleanly. Although our door was in pretty bad shape, he agreed to give it his best effort to restore it. He and his team made it functional again and brought a lot of creativity to the process. Rob gave us a detailed description of the work and prices for the materials so we knew what to expect at all times. He dismantled some closet doors in our master bedroom and installed new folding ones using crown molding to keep with the style in the rest of the house. Again he was very collaborative and creative in discussing our options. It's a pleasure to have his team in the house, they are friendly, polite and reliable local guys.

I was very pleased with Rob and his team, every step of the way. Scheduling was a breeze and everyone arrived on time. Rob is efficient with materials and a good problem solver and I'm happy with the work quality. Also, he was willing to perform the work on a flat fee, easing my anxiety, and leave me the brainless parts (painting, etc.), helping me curb my expense. I got everything I wanted for less than I expected, and good quality, from a group of hard-working professionals who were a pleasure to be around. I'll certainly call on him again.

He came to measure, gave me an estimate of time it would take. When he actually came to do the work it took him 2 hours longer. It was more complicated, but he stuck to his quote. He came with someone else to work with him. They were both punctual, polite and very pleasant. He came to give me the estimate right away and was able to do the work right away.
