I purchased the Big Show complete detailing package on a Saturday at
around 1:00 PM. When I pulled up to the entrance to the car wash, I was
told that the detail process would take an hour and a half. I went
down the street to get something to eat. When I came back, an hour and a
half later, not only was my car not finished - it was parked outside
the car wash, and they hadn't even started on it. I heard from some
others in the waiting room that they had been quoted a 3-hour wait. So
by that time, I was anxious to get home, and I told the manager that I
was leaving. I took my paid receipt and ticket and told them I would
return another day. I also told them that they should have quoted me the
correct amount of time. If the wait time was 3-hours, then they should
have been honest about it.
So I left.
But that wasn't the
worst of it. When I came back the second time, to get my service
performed...I arrived on another Saturday, but luckily on a day when
they were far less busy. However, almost exact same scenario - I went
out for something to eat, came back an hour and a half later, car not
finished. At least they had started working on it - but at that point,
he told me I had another 40 minutes to wait. I got the distinct
impression that the car manager had seen that I walked off the property
(i.e. he had asked me if I would be waiting onsite) - and then decided
to let my car sit before getting started on it. And when I was p*****
off that I had to wait another 40 minutes in the waiting room - after
having left for an hour and a half already - he came up to me and
explained that there was sap on the outside of my car, which meant that
they had to get it off before waxing the outside. I felt like he was
just making up an excuse because he's a bullshitter who doesn't treat
customers with respect.
You'd think that after they f***** up
the first time, and p***** someone off by not quoting the right time,
that they'd be extra careful the second time around with their customer
service. But apparently not.
Won't go there again.

A good job, but not great. Detailed a moderately dirty miivan, preparing it for resale. Had to go over areas myself after to finish the job.

Absolutely awful car wash. Brought my 2011 honda in for a wash based on reviews. Came out looking much worse then when I brought it in. Deep scratches and residue over the entire body. If you have a car with decent paint... avoid this car wash.

Auto Detailing Service
We went to Belmont Car Wash based on the recommendations on Angie's List and we were not disappointed. My husband was particularly pleased that we could take the car in for detailing on a Saturday without an appointment. My 5 year old car came out looking like it was brand new. The vacuuming was wonderfully thorough - all the crumbs and bits left behind by my kids in various nooks and crannies were all cleaned out.

This was my first time ever having a car detailed, and I'm glad I did it. I called for info and left a message, and I also emailed them with questions. I can't remember whether they called me back, or whether I found all the info I needed on their informative website. The email response came a couple of days later, after I had gotten the service. I was able to drop my car off in the morning and pick it up after the work day, using the frequent 73 bus to get to and from the Red Line. This was very convenient for me. When I arrived, it wasn't totally clear to me that I should drive around to the drive-through wash entrance, but once I got to the booth, the woman there explained the process to me. The rates matched what was listed on the website, and the package included a service that I had thought was a separate charge, which was nice to hear. When I picked up my car, I was pleased with how clean it was, and with the removal of some scratches through buffing. The few loose items in my car were placed neatly in the cargo area. Aside from difficulty getting information promptly ahead of time, it all went smoothly and I would use the service again.

I have used Belmont Car Wash to have my vehicle cleaned and detailed for over 10 years. The cleaning was always good and I never had any trouble with service, until my most recent visit in July, 2008. The short story is, I was leaving Belmont Car Wash, late for an appointment and I noticed small hash marks or rips in the tinting of all of my windows. They were small, but they numbered hundred or more. I turned around, went back and reported my findings to the head washer, who I'd tipped just moments earlier. He claimed they were air bubbles, so I asked to speak with the Manager. He told me the Manager would say the same thing (an odd response, I thought, given I hadn't told the Manager anything yet - this led me to believe that they knew about the problem already, and were prepared to react had I come back, or, this is the plan in place to deal with all complaints). Needless to say, the Manager was no more helpful. He claimed they were "air bubbles", and that they were "caused by dirt under the bubbles". None of what this man said was true. They were caused by something sharp, that ripped the tinting on the inside of the windows. I will never go back to Belmont Car Wash. Over the years, I've had my car cleaned there to the tune of well over $2000. They've lost my future business, that of my friends, as I tell people my story often, and I urge you not to go there as well. The smart businessman would have done one or more of the following: Returned my money ($140 or so),paid for a new tint job,given a coupon for future cleaning and/or apologized. I was respectful to both of the men I dealt with. I didn't raise my voice, but made my case. It's astonishing to me that the Manager didn't apologize. An apology would have gone a long way to keep my business, a gesture that they were sorry;like a free washing, that really costs them nothing in this situation because they lost my business for life. I'm 36. That decision to deny any responsibility cost that business $8000 over the course of the years of my life, assuming I was still happy with their service and continued to go to the Belmont Car Wash. I had called for an estimate and which package I should get. I received an email 2 days later with all the details. I didn't need an appointment. I was also concerned that the plastic parts of my car would be too shiny and cause glare -- I had that problem with an older car with ArmorAll, but was assured that it wouldn't be a problem. We went through the car wash - about 3 mins, which did a very nice job and then left the car there for 90 mins. When we got back, we checked the car out and they did a very detailed job. We were concerned at first because we could not find my wife's bluetooth headset. When we brought this up to the manager, he was very concerned and came over to check things out. They had packaged up the stuff in different sections of the car into plastic bags and placed them in the trunk (which they also detailed). Nothing was missing. We were so impressed we brought our 2nd car there to have it done.

I took my son's Toyota Corolla in for a complete detailing. Belmont's Web site said it would take 1.5 hours; however, when I got there they said it would take 2.5 hours. (They do not make appointments.) When done, the car looked good on the outside and the inside; they actually managed to get most of the smoke smell out. As I was driving home, however, I noticed that the dashboard ashtray was missing. I was sure that it was there when I brought the car in, so I immediately called Belmont on my cell. The woman in the office put me on hold and then said: 1. the ashtray was not there, 2. they don't remove ashtrays during detailing, and 3. the ashtray was missing when I brought it in. After my son, returning from vacation the following week, confirmed that the ashtray was there, I left a message asking if it had turned up. Two days later they returned the call, saying it was there. They said another Corolla that day had a missing ashtray. They gave me 4 coupons for free washes.

Quick and smooth, the car was pretty clean but they missed around the rear license plate on my minivan. Overall it was a good job, though. The interior work was pretty basic, it was clean.

This is the best car wash I have found in the metro west area (from allston to belmont). Their wash is "soft touch," and they hand dry your car afterwards with towels. There are many, many levels of car wash service available, and their prices are very fair. For one of the basic exterior washes, you simply stay in your car and you're in-and-out very quickly. For a more in-depth service, like waxing or interior cleaning, you wait in their waiting room with complimentary magazine, popcorn and coffee. Overall an excellent experience.

Estimated time for the job was 90 minutes so I was able to leave and come back. Waiting room was nice too with free Dunkin Donuts, coffee and popcorn. The workers were fast, professional and pleasant. The car came out very clean and looking almost new.
