Butler & Sons Tree Svc

The entire process was wonderful - from my communications with the office (Kathy), to the estimate meeting with Joe, to the actual work. Super professional and very thorough at every stage. I am planning to hire them again for a project in the spring.

Joe's initial consultation with me regarding the health of my trees and the scope of the work required was honest and thorough. Within a few days, Joe emailed me a quote and his prices were more than fair. Scheduling removal of a diseased 65 foot Norway Maple was easily handled over emails with Kathy, and the crew arrived early which I appreciated. The actual job was amazing to watch. Joe, David and Benjamin safely and efficiently took down and chipped that massive tree in about 5 hours, including cleaning the area and packing up their equipment. Afterward, Joe was kind enough to loan me his pitch fork so I could spread the chips on my property. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the work of Butler & Sons. They are reliable, professional, knowledgeable and very friendly.

Great. And they were flexible about scheduling. The first date they proposed didn't work for us because we were going to be out of town, plus we really wanted to get the work done earlier because it looked like a big limb was about to fall at any moment, and they found an opening in their schedule a few weeks earlier than the original date.

The 3 member crew did a masterful job. They began by setting up barricades to prevent harming the surrounding area and took care not to destroy a lawn that was in their path of work. David, the member of the crew who cut the sections of the tree and attached them to the rope and guided them to the ground spent the entire day on that tree. No small feat in itself! The other members of the crew spent the day carrying enormous sections up a set of stairs to the collection area on a driveway. We watched them lift those tree sections with disbelief. I was able to easily schedule an estimate and I received the estimate via email with a few days. Everything was communicated clearly through email, including proof of insurance, scheduling, what to expect on the day of. The crew arrived as scheduled and the work was done quickly and with minimal mess left over. My daughter loved watching the trees fall and nothing hit our house! The price was lower than other estimates. Our neighbor recommended Butler to us and we recommend them to you!

Joe Butler and his crew did a superior job.  He explained what he was going to do, introduced me to each of his crew members and asked if I had any questions or concerns.  It took the whole day to cut down the multi-leader tree.  Very prompt and professional.  The crew was very cautious and safety was never an issue.  They had everything under control.  I was so impressed with the whole job.  They cleaned up and did not leave any debris.  I would recommend Butler and Sons to anyone.  They were excellent in every aspect.  Thank you Joe.

They are very professional and did an excellent job. They even removed a pile of old branches that the utility company had left behind, at no extra charge. When we came home from work at the end of the day, I was amazed by how effectively they had cleaned up after themselves. They didn't leave behind a twig, a leaf, or even a piece of sawdust. The tree that was removed was too close to the foundation to make stump grinding possible, but they cut it down all the way to the ground so there's almost no stump anyway. And the tree that was trimmed looks great, they took off only what was necessary so the tree should remain nice and healthy. We are very happy with the results.

I expected them to come with all sorts of ladders, but the man just rappelled up into the giant tree like a Ninja with ropes, and brought down the branch. They trimmed and trimmed and TRIMMED the trees, and then brought the chipper, ground everything up, raked everything, shoveled every leaf and twig and sawdust, like they were never there. Extremely professional and neat workmanship. Much appreciated!

They did a wonderful job. Everything was cleaned up, nothing was damaged, they did everything that was expected.

The work was done in 2 days. The men were very professional, after everything was done they cleaned the yard and made sure my neighbor's yard was clean as well.

They came and cleared it beautifully and I never had to take off work and no mess to clean up. I thought the price was very reasonable for a job I could never do myself.

They were very punctual and professional and did a great job removing our trees.

Their scheduling was pretty easy. They are very honest. I would ask him why he was doing things and he would explain them professionally. I appreciated his knowledge base. He would explain why he would carefully remove a limb. I asked him to look at some things at my church and he's been great about advising me.

Joe Butler and his crew did an amazing job at our house. We had a giant tree come down during the July 3 microburst. Joe came the next day, on the July 4 holiday, as soon as the live wire was removed, and began removing the tree so that NStar could reach our house and restore power. Over the next couple of days, he and his crew removed every bit of wood, every leaf and branch, leaving our yard spotless! This is a conscientious, honest and professional family-owned business and I highly recommend them.

It is a small family-owned business. He is very hardworking, he has a good crew, and nice people that work with him. He does a great job, he is very community service oriented, he does things in the community of Watertown. Some people are just hackers on trees and bushes, but he knows how to prune. I have a woody garden so I plant so many trees in my little planting land. He gets it and he loves pruning work and stuff like that. He shows up on time. He is a nice guy. They take time to look and see what they are doing. They know how to step back and they really put in a solid day's work.

Great service, highly recommend. They did a great job and had reasonable prices. Joe was very knowledgeable about tress, listened to what we wanted and asked questions. Kathleen was always available on email and responded quickly. Their crew was polite, took proper safety precautions and were very competent. We used the backyard of a neighbor behind us. I was very pleased to see that the crew did an impeccable job of cleaning all debris and leaves.
Also, they were forthright with insurance, added us to their insurance certificate for the job, and they carried required workers comp insurance; not everyone carried this though. This was a huge point for us and other tree services we interviewed weren't as forth coming about insurance.

They came to do the estimate in a few day. The owner seemed very knowledgeable. The quote was comparable with other providers but we decide to go with them because the owner seems to know more and was very professional. The scheduling was relatively easy through email. On the day of work, they came on time and was professional. I cam back later that evening and the job was done as proposed. The yard was clean. Would definitely use them again.
