After 17 years of using Bedford Cleaners, I've finally had enough and will not use them again. The first mark against them happened a couple of years ago. The seamstress who works there did some alterations for me on about 5 pairs of pants. The prices for her services were listed. When I arrived to pick up my pants, she would not give them to me unless I paid her more. When I told her that was ridiculous since her prices are listed, she said something to the effect of, "Where is your sense of justice. Be fair." I could not get my clothes for the listed price until I asked the owner to intervene. If she doesn't feel she is paid enough, she should increase the prices she has listed.
Next, one of the women who works up front, an older woman who has been there forever, is one of the most unpleasant and unfriendly service persons I have ever met. I don't know why I've put up with it this long. Another specific incident: One day several years ago, I brought in a basket of clothes to be cleaned. My cat had curled up in it the day before and left cat hair on the clothing on top of the pile. She made sure to loudly indicate that my items were "covered in fur" and asked me not to bring in items like that right in front of three other customers. It was embarrassing and infantilizing. They are a dry cleaner, so I do not know why I was scolded for bringing in dirty clothes. Their business is cleaning dirty clothes.
They will not wash pillows and they charge $2/square foot to wash rugs with a $30 minimum. That means that if you bring in your little 2x3 throw rug, you will pay $30 to have it cleaned. Their prices for cleaning clothes are very high, too. They are rigid with their "rules" and their rules are mostly customer-UNfriendly. I'm done with this place. There is absolutely no reason for me to tolerate all of the above when there are many other dry cleaners around.

They have one day service if you have an emergency. They repair and replace buttons if needed. They are friendly and do a wonderful job on the shirts.
