 + 14 moreHouse & Grounds is a Prime Contractor. They have a set of subcontractors that they hire for all of the work that they do. These include demolition, carpentry, sheet rock and plastering, plumbing, electrical, and painting. The contractors do a lot of work for H & G and they all know each other and work well with each other. If the need arose, we, the subcontractors, and H & G, would coordinate making decisions or solving problems that would arise. Towards the end of the project there was a small "punch list" of things that we wanted done differently they were promptly taken care of. H & G helped us with selection of vendors for cabinets, counter tops, flooring, etc. Once we had selected these various item, they scheduled the work and did all of the coordination between the sub-contractors. A schedule was prepared at the beginning which all of the subcontractors agreed with. Everyone, subcontractors and vendors, adhered to the schedule. H & G was on site everyday.
Description of Work: Remodel our kitchen. The old kitchen was completely demolished and replaced. All the old cabinets were removed. Plumbing and electrical was disconnected as necessary. Old wallpaper was removed. One wall the was removed to the studs and the other wall was taken down to the original plaster. Old flooring was removed to the sub-floor. Warped studs in one wall were repaired. New electrical outlets and lights installed. New plumbing (gas and water) and electrical was roughed in. New blue board and plaster was installed. New sub-floor installed. Walls, trim and ceiling painted. Appliances installed, including sink and faucet, connection of gas, water and electrical. Cabinets and trim installed. Electrical outlets, switches, and light fixtures installed. New counter tops installed. New flooring installed. New exterior door installed.
