I was a tenant with for Chris Attardo. He was my landlord and hvac guy. His rental housed not too boy my heating unit but the unit next door. When the tenants smoked weed so did we. Only we had an infant living there. When the baby slept or played in her room she would get miles weed. Not only did it come thru our ventilation we also received weed thru the bottom apartment that came thru holes in the plastic bing work. Yep, he had us evicted. After we discovered that the apartment next door was occupied by his friend of twenty years who was a drug dealer and was arrested in June 2022its all been n the court papers. His lawyer told us if we proceed to go through with the appeal he would keep the case tied up in court for years. We were now homeless and unable to keep fighting. I would check my ventalation in my home and who he sends to do the work. He was friends with his tenant for twenty years and this friend was a known criminal, he had to have known

Chris Attardo was prompt, efficient and helpful throughout the process. We got about 5 competing bids. Chris's was not the lowest (or the highest) , but he spent far more time looking at and measuring the house than the lower-priced companies. So I felt reassured that the equipment and installation he was recommending were right for our small house (everyone agreed our old systems were oversized, but their recommendations for new systems varied). Chris responded patiently and clearly to my multiple emailed questions, both before we accepted his bid, and throughout the job.. He kept me informed of the approximate and then the final start date, and work actually started on the final date. The HVAC crew, plumber, electrician, and oil tank removal subcontractor were all courteous and helpful, and left the work area neat at the end of each day.
Chris was on the site the first day, and helped me make several critical decisions that could only be made once the work had started, such as where to locate two additional air intakes needed for the new high-efficiency furnace. He kept me informed of everyone's schedule until the work was done. He then came back after the work had been inspected to walk me through the instructions for our new systems and to help me complete the paperwork for the Mass Save rebates.
Both new construction and remodeling seem to be back almost to pre-2008 levels in our community (Newton). As a result, it took 3-plus months to get our home assessed and applications approved through the Mass Save program, get competing bids from contractors, and get our new systems inspected once they were installed (this is no reflection on the city's inspectors - because I work at Newton City Hall, I know they are all working at over 100 percent of capacity).
Attardo Heating and AIr Conditioning did the actual work in about 2 days (including about 3 hours to empty and remove our old basement oil tank).. Working with Chris, his employees and subcontractors was the fastest and easiest part of the process, and we are happy with our new heating system.
