Extremely a very very bad experience. I called this company on Saturday 11/25/22 because my boiler was not functioning, they are 24hour servicing company, I received a call back on 11/26/22. staff member that came said that the boiler needed cleaning, it took him almost an hour to clean it and I received heat. Next day, I am called with a bill of $700. and I was told to pay right away. Called back the next day and requested for an invoice, it never came through. 12/1/22, 5 days after boiler was cleaned, it stops working again. I went out of state returned Tuesday On 12/6/22. I receive a call from Benjamin Jean and he threaten legal, if bill isn't paid within a day. I again requested for invoice and also explained that heat is not functioning. Benjamin, schedules to check it out next day. Next day, Ben asks,"why am i here, boiler is working. " I inform him that the house isn't heating up. After us insisting, he checks the fan, and says, the motor is faulty. continued....what work..

So far, it is good. Their price was reasonable. The total cost of service was $10,500 and that included a new high efficiency furnace and a new central air conditioning unit. The reason we found them was something my husband worked with had used them and that actually how it worked out. They were very professional. Even sometimes when people come, they can be a little rough around the edges, but everybody was very polite and professional. They worked one long day and they got the job done.

We had met with several vendors, including several HVAC plumbers, who led us to believe that this would be a "tough" job due both to space constraints in our closet and due to the time of year ("you'll be without heat and hot water for a few days... sure you want to do this now?"). We also wanted to take advantage of the MassSave loan/rebate program, which several vendors weren't familiar with. I finally called NSTAR and asked them who they'd recommend and that's how I found GMC (after several others didn't even return my call!). Mike Primavera was able to come and assess the job quickly and he got me a quote within about 24 hours. The quote was right around what I expected and they were patient with me which I was pre-approved for the MassSave loan, providing all the documentation I needed. Once I booked the job, they were here quickly and I was really impressed with the team who came here to work (Charlie and Charlie). They knew exactly what they were doing and even made a recommendation back to Mike as to how to make the job a bit easier and more cost efficient. They had all the work done in 2 days, during which time I was only without heat for FOUR HOURS while they waited for the gas inspector. It was amazing! My house temp only dropped by about 2 degrees. They were super courteous while they were here and I got the final paperwork I needed for the rebate on the equipment quickly as well. I'll recommend them to everyone I know.

I made the call first thing in the morning---by 10:00 Mike Primavera was at my house assessing the situation. By noon time that day I had my official proposal. Two days later I had my install done by a professional and highly qualified crew headed by Justin. The work was done quickly, meticulously and the guys cleaned up well after themselves.
That night I had a glitch with my furnace--the pitch of the piping needed correction. I called the emergency number and Brad came out within an hour to make sure I had heat that night. The next day Justin came back first thing in the morning and permanently fixed the problem spot.
Everyone I had to deal with through General Mechanical Contractors was great. I would highly recommend the company to anyone needed heating work done.

They were excellent! Worked hard, did a great job and there thorough in their work. Last summer was the hottest summer on record in the last 100 years, and I didn't even know it because the air conditioning unit they installed worked so well. He was able to install it and make it work well when many other companies wouldn't even try to.

10/1/2012 - Our experience with General Mechanical Contractors has been overwhelmingly positive - right from the first moment I met their representative. We had decided to replace our oil with a gas boiler. GMC's rep arrived on time to quote. Coincidentally, our oil burner had gone out on the day he arrived. Well, he just fixed it on the spot - and would not accept any payment. So, we surely wanted to give him the job. We did get other quotes - most a little less, some even a lot less - but not enough to sway our decision. GMC quoted using circulator pumps for all zones - not just zone valves. We spoke with a few professional engineers in the field. This was a little more expensive approach but our engineering contacts assured us it was much better. The GMC team showed up on time, and installed the equipment efficiently and professionally. We encountered one ornery snag - a stuck thermostat in our HW heater - and GMC stayed with the problem until solved, and honored their quote, despite the fact it cost them an additional day to do the installation. I recommend them highly.
1/9/2013 Since my above review, we have had two small problems with the installation - not as a result of their work - and they have responded promptly to both. All in all, great fellows, good job, fair price and knowledgeable mechanics. Recommend them without hesitation !

Everything went fine. They came on time, and did a good job. We are getting quality heat, and haven't had any problems so far.
