Dumpster Service
Trying to call customer service is a joke...call center with people that have no authority to do anything. Company is too large to be responsive. Whenever anything is needed off-schedule, they cannot accommodate. They dictate all terms without listening to the customer. Found a more local operator for HALF the money!!!

I get my trash picked up every week, while other people do it every other week, and this is because we are cleaning out. This past summer we rented a dumpster, and filled it. I call and pay by phone, they just take my check number. I pay $88 for 3 months.

We began using the company when it was Central Mass. Disposal.  About a year ago they merged with Republic Services, which is when service started going downhill.  When they became Allied Waste it only got worse.  When Republic Services started picking up our trash they told us our pickup day would change from thurs to tues.  So we started putting our trash out on tues, but it wouldn't be picked up until thurs.  We tried to get them to pick up a recliner we were getting rid of.  They told us to put it out on the curb monday morning, they NEVER came and got it (at least they never charged us).  We only had our trash picked up twice a month.  On weeks that weren't our trash pickup week they wouldn't pick up our recycling either.  This was an issue b/c they only picked up paper on the weeks that we put our trash out.  So, it would be a month or so until they could be bothered to pick up or bottles/cans for recycling.  The last straw was when we received our last quarterly bill and the annual fuel charge, plus the monthly rate increased without a notice.  I immediately cancelled their service and found another provider.  However, the story doesn't end there.  When I cancelled I was told to put our container on the curb monday morning and they would pick it up.  Three days later it was still in on the curb.  Apparently, many others were also fed up with their service, because there are many other containers that have been sitting on the curb this week waiting to be picked up!  I have e-mailed their customer service department and am waiting for a response.

This company removes trash. It's such a basic thing that shouldn't be hard to screw up, and yet Allied Waste does a fairly good job at it.
The trash collection itself isn't a hassle. The crew always comes when they are supposed to, and they remove what's left out on the curb. No problem.
The issue is dealing with customer service. A week ago (1/24) my wife and I put the trash barrel outside with a recycle bin full of paper to be removed. The crew only removed half of the cardboard and left the rest in the bin. Odd, we thought, but didn't think much of it. This morning (1/31) my wife and I left the trash barrel outside along with two recycling bins full of containers/plastics/etc. Neither was emptied. When we called to inquire why, we were told to "look at the calender" and that this week was paper week.
Well, first of all, we never received their calendar. Nor did we receive it last year. Both times that we called because we never had a calendar, we were treated rudely over the phone. Last year (2012) we never ended up receiving a calendar by mail even though we requested it.
Second, the schedule was fine with the crew picking up plastics on 1/3, paper on 1/10, plastics on 1/17. Why would the schedule shift suddenly after three weeks into the new year?
Allied Waste does what it's supposed to do. It removes trash for you from your curb. Just don't expect stellar service when you have to figure out the puzzle of when they'll pick up your recycling because you never receive a calendar.

They are terrific.  They are very accommodating and we were willing to help my elderly mother get her trash collected.  You can even schedule trash pick-up on alternate weeks.

We have been using them for at least four years. They come out once a week on Wednesdays. I asked for paper recyclable boxes, and they never brought those out. They did bring out everything else that we needed. The price was fair.
