Villandry was highly recommended by several of our neighbors, but they still managed to exceed my expectations. High quality work. Progress was made every day. The workers were friendly and professional. They provided a detailed estimate, transparent accounting and lots of helpful communication. After the downstairs bathroom was almost complete, I asked them to raise the shower stem. This was a lot of unexpected work, since the wall was already tiled. "No problem!" Two days later, it was done. Villandry wasn't the low bid, but they provide very good value for big jobs like this one.

Villandry is a textbook great contractor. Super clear, organized, detailed quote and execution plan. Owner is personally involved, and went out of his way to minimize the inconvenience of having our only bathroom disappear while we were still in the house. The job manager was on top of things, and we were always informed of the schedule. Quality of work was very good to excellent, depending on the sub. They seemed super busy, but were committed to doing our job right. Would highly recommend. If they are even a little higher than your other quotes, go with Villandry so you can sleep at night knowing your house is in good hands, and the work will last.

It was great working with Villandry throughout the process.  We were in the middle of a window replacement job with another contractor when we discovered the rotted areas in the wall and posts.  The window installer wasn't certified to fix the structural problems, so we needed to find a general contractor, and quickly, because the old windows had already been removed.  Fernando, the owner, stopped by soon after our call and gave us a very reasonable quote, on the low end of the three that we received.  Although his schedule was already fairly full, he managed to fit us in fairly quickly.  Additional damage was discovered as they did the work, and the modification to the quote was also very reasonable.  We are very happy with the quality of the work, both the structural parts and the exterior finish work, and they cleaned the work area well.  Fernando and his employees were always friendly and professional.

It went really really well.  Villandry is a trustlworthy company with a great office.  Everyone is very punctual and informative.  Competitve pricing, stayed in contact through the whole process. No kitchen remodel is easy and this team made it managable.  The whole process took only 2 weeks.  Villandry knows the best contractors in the area for plaster, wood floors, etc and they always managed them well.  The only thing that would make it better is if Villandry did stone countertops!  They only do wood so we had to get a different countertop contractor.

They were superb. They were very orderly. They were very helpful. They did excellent business. We knew exactly what was going to be done beforehand. The contract spelled out everything. It was done to perfection as stated, there were no unpleasant surprises. We were guided throughout the process with their reminders of when things needed to be bought and had to be done. It was a very successful process.

This was the second substantial renovation job in 7 years we have contracted with Villandry to do. The quotation process was straightforward and spelled out the elements of the work in great detail. We had created plans for the areas to be worked on and discussed them with Fernando and his crew, who helped fill in the specific details needed for implementation. We had selected a number of our preferred suppliers for fixtures and tiles, the logistics for which the crew in the Villandry office helped manage by tweaking the work schedule and providing some interim storage for the larger fixtures after delivery. As the work went forward the events needed to make timely progress were well communicated where our action was required, and on time where others were required to act such as inspections and subcontractor work. We were living in the house while the work was done and the Villandry crew did a good job isolating the work areas with plastic sheeting and floor pads to keep the dust down while going in and out of the house. The subcontractors were all very good, particularly the tile, floor, and painter crews. The overall cost of the job grew just a bit from the original estimate. The estimate was spelled out in such great detail that deviations are immediatiately apparent and become cost decision points. While at the time of quotation we thought we had a better than average understanding of the scope of the work to be done, it became clear that as the work progressed and it became apparent a change from the original basis of quotation was the best way to go, it invariably grew cost. That said, the process was transparent, the work was high quality, a good value, and we would continue to consider Villandry for future jobs.

The work was done very professionally with high quality materials.  The process was smooth and the staff were very responsive. The on-stie staff were prompt and very neat (which I appreciated). I would definetly recommend Villandry Contracting (actually I already have) to others!

  The work took exactly 30 days. Staff was on time every day. Staff was always courteous, professional and explaining the work every step of the job. They took care of permits, inspections and cleaned up every scrap of debris. Sub-contractors were just as responsive and professional!! I had one problem I noticed after the job was done.  It was taken care of the very next day. I would recommend this company for any and every job you need done.

Very thorough communication from Day 1 of Estimate, which is apparently a rare thing! Everything was spelled out in contracts and amendments so there was no confusion as the project start date approached and as the project went on. This was reassuring to us as this was the biggest, most expensive project we've done to our home to date. Work began on time (as quoted in original estimate) and was completed slightly earlier than projected. All workers were amazingly quick, professional, polite, and always took time to clean up the work site. Fernando is very professional and was willing to work with us to allow us to do as much of the work ourselves when possible to minimize costs. All of our questions and concerns were addressed fully and in a timely manner, often in the same day. The cost of the project stayed true to the estimate, without any surprises, and, while it was not the cheapest estimate we received in pricing our project, it was not the most expensive either. The workers were able to get everything completed just in time for a big family party and took extra care to clean the work site. They were even kind enough to refer us to an electrician a few weeks later when we found ourselves in a bind and needed someone reliable asap (he worked out great as well). Excellent.  They took on the job at the same time they were moving offices and changing supervisors.  There were a few glitches and misunderstandings, but Fernando and Shaun cleared things up right away.
The quality of the workmanship is very fine, and the tile, in particular, is outstandingly done.

A few weeks ago, we had a minor plumbing problem and I called Shaun to check it out.  They had a plumber over within the day and he figured out what was wrong ( a small item) and fixed it.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Very professional crew, finished job in a timely manner, and followed timelines. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail, and willing to come back for minor fixes after job was done. My kitchen at present in still in excellent condition, a sign of good work!

They did a great job, kept the site clean, were there when they said they would be, and finished in a timely fashion.

I have used this company over 5 times. They are professional, do high quality work and stay within their estimate. Once they start a job they remain on it until finished...unlike some who are here a day gone a week. They limit their company size in order to stay on top of the work quality. This means you will need to wait as they are often booked. Believe me it is WELL worth the wait. I will not use anyone else.

This project went incredibly smoothly thanks to Villandry Contracting. Their estimate was detailed and allowed us to really understand when costs changed. They started the job when they told us they would, completed it in a timely manner, and had someone at our house every day (except maybe toward the end when we were waiting for fixtures, etc.). They worked with us to set up a temporary kitchen (which was actually workable) in the basement. Their work was impressive, from the removal of structural walls and the installation of steel beams to the finer carpentry work. They had very good input when we ran into problems and were helpful at resolving them with us at a reasonable cost. I can't say enough good things about them. My only complaint would be the amount of paperwork. We felt that the price, although maybe not the lowest out there, was more than fair given the service.

Villandry contracting was outstanding. They are the ultimate professionals. The office was in constant contact with us during the project, they were very quick and neat, and their work was top notch. I will definitely have them back to do all of my future remodeling, both inside and out.
