Excellent personal service and professional staff, as always. I have been having my SLR & Digital cameras cleaned and repaired here for over 20 years. This time it was a sticky shutter that began while on a trip to Greece. I paid my $25 'diagnostic' fee and, later that day, got a call that the shutter button needed replacing. (Not surprising after over 100,000 photos!) They said 3-10 days. Well, I got a call in 2 days! As usual, Edward had me try out the camera first- shutter speed / responsiveness LIKE NEW! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! They REALLY know their stuff!

Lucky to have such a shop to go to!

Office was very professional all the way through the process. A small local shop. They wrote down the serial number of the camera, lens and even the battery on the receipt to be double checked at pick-up. The camera was handled very delicately (the lens could easily have been damaged by the break of the filter) and I have considerable confidence in this shop.

I had a 5 year-old Canon camera with a broken auto-focus. They troubleshooted on the spot, but couldn't find the problem. So they told me they'd keep the camera to identify the root cause. They called me a couple of days later with all of the details and cost, all of which seemed accurate and reasonable to me. I agreed to the cost and camera was fixed 2 days later. They appear to know their business, having done a fine job with pride and honesty. (Shop always seems to have plenty of customers, some of whom were clearly repeat customers coming in for their annual service maintenance).

They were perfect for me. They were quick and simple. You just drop it off and they did a good job. The lens works perfect.

The view finder didn't work on my very old SLR film camera because the "focus screen" fell out of place (I had the loose focus screen). When I brought the camera to Sanford, in addition to the focus screen problem, they also pointed out that the foam light seals around the film access door were dried, worn and some were missing. They suggested replacing them as well as reinstalling the focus screen. Otherwise, they felt the camera was in very good condition. They provided a written estimate of the repair cost along with a detailed itemization of the camera and the attachments which I left (or didn't leave) with them. I agreed to repair it according to their suggestions and left it with them on a Tuesday. The next day they called to mention that the original focus screen was scratched which, if reinstalled, would cause impaired visibility through the view finder. They suggested replacing it with a used, but much better condition, focus screen and provided the additional cost. I agreed. They called on Friday the same week to tell me the camera was ready. In addition to the necessary repairs, they also did a general cleaning and test of all functions.
I was very pleased with their professionalism, the quality repair, the prompt repair completion and their communications (the two telephone calls). I felt they were a little pricey, but "you get what you pay for"!!

The tape cassette drawer had jammed and the camera was unusable. I have switched to my cell phone for taking videos, but desperately wanted to digitize & put dozens of hours of old home & travel videos on the computer for editing and safekeeping.
I used to use the Sony repair center in Maryland, but that is long gone. Though expensive, Sony centers used to be located around the U.S. Repair of consumer items is now only available at centers in Texas and California. No Sony repair is available for such an old camcorder as mine--they no longer stock the parts. Actually Sony agreed to let me ship the camcorder to TX and they would look at it to determine if they could fix it-pretty reasonable offer I thought, but no guarantees.
However I figured there must be some independent technician who remembered how to work on such old technology. Internet searches weren't too helpful. There are places in major cities which repair professional gear, but consumer tape machines are clearly obsolete. I found a possible place in central Florida. Then, many pages into my google search, I found Sanford Camera Repair! Given I was visiting Boston in a few weeks, this was an easy stop in nearby Arlington Mass and wonderful news for me.
Sanford took the camcorder in, called in a week or so with the estimate, did the repair I requested, and a couple weeks later shipped it back to me. The cost was very fair, the camcorder has worked great to extract all those precious video memories off the little DV tapes & onto my laptop.

They are reliable. They are my go to place and I would recommend them.

It went ok. It took a long time. My camcorder was returned with a lot of cosmetic damage to the case, which wasn't there before, and they wouldn't take American Express. But they did have a very fair price for simply investigating the problem, compared to other vendors who wanted to gouge me on that price.

When I took the camera in, one of the lens doors was stuck open. I expected to get it fixed, but they recommended simply removing them -- it would have cost quite a bit more to repair them. They gave me an estimate of $46 and said it would be ready in about a week and a half. In fact it was ready in a week, and the $46 estimate was just right. And they also checked it out and did some cleaning, without charging any more. This is the third time I've taken camera equipment to Sanford to be repaired and each time I've been totally satisfied.

As a professional photographer, I push my cameras until they just won't go any more. Sanford Camera has done repairs for me in the past. They provide an estimate for the work when the camera is dropped off, by having a technician look at it immediately. They finish the work much sooner than anticipated, with incredible skill and professionalism and always at the price of the estimate. Of their breadth of knowledge of all things the camera is most enlightening. I would trust my cameras in no other hands.

THE BEST AND VERY REASONABLE REPAIR I HAVE HAD.
