David was easy to communicate with and responded in a timely manner when I left a message or emailed questions. He came out to look at the job and sent an estimate soon after. Within a week or so the job was scheduled and completed. He did a nice job and cleaned up all branch cuttings.

David was a pleasure to work with. His approach to securing a large tree leaning over our house and backyard was extremely careful and considerate and the trimming and pruning was done so well that the visual impact on our yard was minimal. You can tell that he's someone who loves and takes pride in his work. We are very happy with the work done and highly recommend him.

David did a great job. He's very professional and pleasant to work with. The tree removals and plantings went very well. The yard was not damaged by either the felling of the trees or bringing in the tractor to plant the new trees. I had other estimates and David's was well priced.

David is conscious, reliable, reasonable, professional, and thorough.
I am very happy with the results and would recommend him as well as use his services again myself.

Our tree was damaged badly in the October, 2011 snow storm. We need to have it checked to see if it should be removed or if it could just have the damaged branches removed. We got a few estimates but David's was the best. He was very knowledgable, pointed out the damage from the storm and other parts of the tree that were rotting. Since the tree was so close to the house, we decided that removing it was the best option.
David was able to schedule a time to remove the tree fairly quickly. He arrived on time and was able to complete the job quickly. He cleaned up after the job as well.

David Rines was professional and courteous throughout the experience -- from the initial contact, through discussing what would be best for the trees, scheduling and performing the work (which involved an additional worker), cleaning up afterwards, and billing. We communicated by phone and by email; both worked fine.
One particular thing that impressed me was how David phrased it when he saw that my last pruning (10 years ago or so) was done differently from how he would've done it. Rather than putting down the company who did the work (which other contractors have done, and which I always feel is a criticism of me, since I hired them), he framed it as a legitimate difference of opinion. Treating one's competitors with respect suggests character.
David was more concerned than I was about protecting my deck (which is falling apart an will be replaced soon). He was also concerned with what would be healthy for the tree, not just what would look good. He thought through how my trees will respond over the next several years to the recent removal of a neighbor's very large tree, as my trees take advantage of the increased light. I felt confident that we ended up with a good plan.
David contacted me several days before the date of the job to say that his chipper was in the shop, and to ask whether it was OK if he left the debris for a couple of days until he could bring the chipper. That was fine with me.
As with a haircut, it's hard to predict what it will look like when the job's done, and it was a little startling to see how much was gone. Just as with a haircut, though, I was soon used to it. I wanted a thorough pruning that would last a decade, and that's what I got.
After the work was done, I realized I wanted more removed in one area. David came back to discuss it with me, then took care of it. I neglected to ask whether this would cost more or be included; it cost an additional $65, which seemed reasonable.
The cleanup left my yard looking better than before the job.
I highly recommend Rines ArborWorks.
