About us
Red Door DesignWorks came into being in 2007 when owners Allison Tilly Carswell and Andrea Canty combined our experience with design, color theory and human behavior, with our shared love of interior styling. Together, we work with individuals and corporations to define practical, creative living and working environments. We also team with local realtors to stage homes prior to going on the market. We enjoy working within any budget, from one-hour consults to ongoing projects. Helping clients in the Greater Boston area.

Choosing a paint color for the outside of your house feels like a huge commitment, and so easy to get it wrong, especially if you want to do something a little unusual. This design team worked patiently with me and the painting contractor to test samples and help me re-think the accent color when the project was nearly done and we realized the original accent choice was too dark. In the end, I have a three-color scheme that makes me smile every time I pull into the driveway at the end of the day.
On various consults and projects inside my home, Andrea and Allison have steered me towards the fresh and innovative -- they have a unique gift for working with existing furnishings and fixtures and adding something to bring it current. This is an impressively neat trick in rooms like mine which are full of antique furniture and family memorabilia. I love antiques and dark wood, but thanks to the inspired interventions of RDDW, our living spaces have been rescued from the brink of looking like granny's parlor!
