Ranch Roofing

I was very pleased with the results. They had to come back a couple of times, but that was due to the weather. One time they had to cancel when it was stormy. They eventually got the job done at the price that they promised.

Very well. There were a few small cosmetic issues we asked them to come back to fix, but they were extremely responsive and addressed all of the issues quickly and to our satisfaction.

The experience was great. I called three roofers. Two of the roofers told me I would have to replace the whole roof. This company said that is was worth trying to patch it up. He said he would come several times if the patch didn't hold. He did the patch and it did hold. We will need a new roof in two to three years and I will use him again.

The price they gave was in range with other bids. And they certainly seemed competent and friendly enough. I'm sure that Ranch would be an excellent option for many people. While I appreciated the infomercial, it definitely came with a hard-sell. And though I can respect the desire to demonstrate the "value" of the product and the company, the hard-sell tone was a real turn off to me. This tone may be what other reviewers referred to as their "arrogance" about their Angie's reviews. I didn't think pride in their Angie's ranking was arrogant, so that was not a deal breaker. It was the sense I had that they were going to try to upsell me to a new mattress or 12 CD collection of 70s power ballads that worked against them. Also, the fellow who came by would not be performing any of the actual work; he was clearly a sales guy and not a technician. There's nothing wrong with that, but I prefer to meet whoever is actually doing the work before hand.

Ranch was responsive from the beginning, performed the work on time and on budget. I had some debris fall into my attic and they offered to clean the attic at no cost and did so. The cost of repointing the chimneys did rise by $300 because they needed more work than originally thought, but they told me this before performing the work so I could decide if I wanted to proceed. Quality appears to be very good.

I called the Company to have our roof surveyed . Ryan showed up in perfect time, surveyed the roof thoroughly , taking time to look at the details and explaining everything to me . Moreover, he fixed several small problems on the spot , which took him about an hour (he was supposed only to look at the roof to recommend if any work was needed). All at no charge, which amazed me. Extremely knowledgeable and courteous . Will use the company again, positively.

Ranch Roofing did a fantastic job. They came in with a quote that was significantly below two other highly ranked roofers, gave us a date and performed the roofing job promptly, precisely and professionally --- even notwithstanding some unusually cold weather that came to town. Bob O'Sullivan took great care to make sure to make sure everything went well, even coordinating work with a carpenter for installing a skylight. I highly recommend this company.

After looking through their reviews for the last few months, it looks like I'm one of the people they decided to blow off as well. It seems like they figured out the way to abuse Angie's List's grading system. Since they technically didn't do any work for me, my review won't count for much and they get away with having a high overall grade. It took Bob O'Sullivan a few days to respond to my initial email and call. He emailed be back and asked for my phone number, which I provided. I get another email two days later asking for my number again. After exchanging a few calls as well, I was able to speak with someone to schedule an estimate the following week. After coming out and looking at the two roofs I needed work on, I was told the estimate would me mailed out the following day. I waited a week for the estimate and it never came. I called and spoke with Bob. He "promised" me a call the following morning. The call never came. I called and left a message that afternoon. Still no response. I waited another day and still no call or estimate so I left another message. Still no call back to this day. It's too bad for Ranch Roofing because based on the other estimates I received, he missed out on potentially over $10k worth of work between the two roofs.

Met with John Cataldo April 9, 2009 for estimate. He provided clear, concise, professional presentation of the services to be be performed and included samples of the exact materials that would be used in our job. Bob O'Sullivan coordinated schedule and offered to begin one week earlier than originally planned (which was excellent for us). Job was estimated to take 3.5 days and crew completed in two with fantastic results. Clean-up was SUPERB. Crew took great care to avoid damage to the extensive landscaping in our yard. A portion of the job required set up on neighbor's property. The neighbor was amazed at the fantastic care Ranch Roofing exercised and its thorough clean up afterward..

Hiring this company was the best thing I did. They are highly rated on Angie?s list. The owner, Bob is a great guy, honest, and hard working. His team was quick and did a wonderful job. What stood out was that they were able to walk through and in detail, describe what they were going to do and why it needed to be done and what made their work stand out from their competition. They had a very professional work ethic and very courteous. They were even able to help my roommate out who locked himself out and was able to get him into the house. They were a little more than what we wanted to pay, but it was worth it with the experience we had. I would highly recommend this company. They have great attitudes and they do their job with integrity.

Had interior leaks in 2 bays at front of house - one on first floor, one on second floor. Called Ranch roofing. Came out promptly to look at problem and provided contract to replace roofs on 2 bays that were leaking and 3rd bay that was same age as other two. Did work as soon as the temperature permitted. They were neat, effecient and, as far as I can tell, they did a very good job. Were very careful with the trim in the front of the house - especially where they had to remove it and then replace it.

If I didn't see the dumpser at the house for the old roof and other work remains, I never would have known they were here. Well, the new roof was a give away, of course. Looks great. Once I settled on Ranch Roofing they were there with in week. I was pleased there was such a quick turn around. The owner, Bob, came out on a Friday, agreed to the terms by Monday, and the new roof was done the following Tuesday. Easy going, easy to work with. I didn't have any contact with anyone else during the job. Bob was responsive and available. No complaints. Did what I asked...got what I asked for. Would definitely use them again.

I sought multiple estimates for this (to me) large job. I chose Ranch Roofing as they explained all their proposals very clearly and showed me why they would recommend as they did -- I was also impressed with their reviews on Angies List. Their price was very competitive, they told me about coupons available and they were very responsive and prompt. The job took less time than they estimated, all workers were very polite and helpful and kept me informed of progress -- the owner visited several times and kept me posted as well. The clean-up was impressive. Dumpster was removed promptly. They offer a very good guarantee on the labor which was very important to me -- they have been in business a long time.

I would like to point out that the owner of Ranch actually tried to save me money, because he felt that a portion of the sheathing was not absolutely essential to replace. Since I plan to own the house for a long time, and the cost was reasonable, I had them do it anyway. The owner, Bob O'Sullivan and his salesperson, John, were very courteous and responsive to my needs. I was pleased that The crew showed up when promised, and the whole job was courteously and professionally executed. Bottom line: The workmanship was quite good, and was performed at a very competitive cost. I would definitely recommend Ranch. In fact, I just recommended them to another friend.

Wonderful experience. Bob and John were extremely prompt in returning calls and arranged for estimate immediately. Once I decided to go with Ranch, they were able to schedule the job for the following week. They had a cancellation and were actually able to do it the next day. Jay, who managed the job, arrived promptly and the entire job was complete in one day. The entire crew was courteous and careful. My yard was actually left cleaner and looking better than when they arrived.

From what I know, they did a good job. Of course I haven't climbed up to inspect the roof, but everything appears to be fine and I have not had any problems. I was happy with their work. I have a 40 year warranty with the roof so hopefully I won't be needing them anytime soon.

It was great experience from start to finish. They did everything was promised and even more.

I contacted Ranch Roofing in April to diagnose several leaks. Bob O'Sullivan came out promptly, scrambled around on my roof, answered all my questions and gave me a quote on a partial roof replacement. I would have hired him, but we decided not to do the work at that time. In July, when we began to consider a full roof replacement, I called Ranch back to see if they would come out to look at the job, see if we needed a full or partial roof replacement, and requote the job. Bob called me back promptly and said he'd look up his old quote & notes and get back to me, but he never did. I called back several days later and exchanged messages with 2 of Bob's employees over the course of the next week, but nobody ever followed through to schedule a time to come look at the roof again. Then, in January, when we were finally ready to do a full roof replacement, I called Ranch once more and left a message asking for a quote, but nobody ever called me back. I'm giving Ranch a D rating overall because I liked Bob and felt he was very knowledgeable and would be easy to work with, but their responsiveness in July and again in Jan. was lousy.

I had a complicated leak and had paid a contractor and a roofer several thousand dollars to do things they assured me would fix it, but didn't. Bob O'Sullivan was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful. Their estimate was a bit higher than other roofers BUT they were the only ones who were willing to guarantee that they would fix the leak--including guaranteeing to cover any further interior damage. They did a great job and the roof has been tight as a drum ever since. My only possible reservation is that it took several months to get to the job. In fairness, I didn't press them and it was an incredibly rainy summer--very tough conditions to be a roofer. I highly recommend this company for any roofing work.

Bob was fast in responding, gave me a full explanation of the work that needed to be done and an estimate that he stuck to. The price was reasonable, the work was exemplary and he had a carpenter on site who recommended additional work at an equably reasonable price. His team was fast and did a remarkable job cleaning up at the end of each day. The work was completed in three days. The roof is beautiful, the carpentry work, which was optional but essential to the preservation of the house, was also exemplary. Bob also made a real effort to find and clapboards matching the originals. All in all, the best experience I've had with a contractor. I recommend Ranch without reservation.

Bob from Ranch came out when he said, and e-mailed a quote within two days. They came when they said they would, cleaned up at the end of the day each time, and finished on time as well.

This was a great experience. They promptly called us and came to our house to discuss the job and gave us an estimate that was well priced, They explained every detail of the job and gave several compelling examples of why their work is so high quality. We were impressed that they backup their work with a 15 year labor guarantee. They scheduled the job a for few days later (knowing is was urgent). They arrived on a Monday morning and the new roof was on by dark the same day. They returned the next day to collect their dumpster and clean up any remaining debris. It was a absolute pleasure doing business with them.

They were very quick and timely. They answered any questions that I had, and they made it a point to take care of all of my concerns. The overall experience went well, and I would use them in the future.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a contractor. Ryan was great! He was always responsive and answered all of our questions. He was very punctual with getting us an estimate, dropping off samples and scheduling the work. We had a electrician install a bathroom exhaust fan just before the roofing work and Ryan was nice enough to install a new vent for our bathroom exhaust fan at no extra charge. He even came back the next day to adjust some of the gutters and downspouts that were not perfectly plumb. All the work came in at the exact price of the estimate. I would recommend them to anyone!

Emailed a request for a visit/quote and no response after 4 days. That's unacceptable, especially for a vendor with an "A" rating on this service.
