Metrosexual Movers

In order to perform renovations I contracted Metrosexual Movers to move bedroom furniture from our house to my in-laws house (accross the street). Estimating was accurate and straightforward. Service was provided promptly and professionally by 2 people. no furniture or household items were damaged in the move.

I hired this one man (plus part time helper) shop, this is a tiny operation, perhaps only appropriate for tiny moves. First of all, he did not come to my house to give me an estimate of cost or time. He just trusted my and quot;judgementand quot; to estimate the amount of and quot;stuffand quot; which was wrong (I am not a mover). So my stuff did not all fit in the truck. Next time I will not hire a mover unless they come to my house and eyeball my stuff. He did a good job of cleaning out the errant stuff in the basement, which I appreciated, as I did not do a good job of packing the basement stuff. Upon delivery, which went smoothly, he offered to connect my washing machine, which he attached incorrectly, and I then had to call a plumber to fix it. I tipped the owner fifty bucks, and his worker one hundred, as he did most of the lifting and carrying. Owner seemed annoyed with that. In short, I would not hire this guy again.

The day stretched from the projected 7 hours to more than double that (due to our own inaccurate estimate.) The work was done efficiently, in a pleasant and professional manner. Our concerns as well as our possessions were carefully attended to. We were so pleased with our experience a year ago, that we called Metrosexual again last month when we needed something moved. We plan to keep their number "in our Rolodex" for whenever we need moving services, and would refer them enthusiastically to anyone.
