Great experience overall. Mark responded promptly and came the next morning to give me the estimate, arrived when he said he would. Based on the reasonableness of the estimate, I told him to schedule it. He had an opening the next morning and again, arrived when he said he would. Completed the work in the time frame he estimated and slightly under the estimate. I also asked him to check on the wiring to the pool filter which was exposed, just to make sure nothing was frayed. He looked at it and indicated it was ok, but said he could shore up the fixture by attaching it to the deck footing. Nothing electrical in that, but just terrific service. Very courteous and professional. Would definitely call him for additional work.

We contacted Mark Allen on the basis of the reviews that we read on Angie's List, and once again, the list steered us in the right direction!

Again, we really liked Mark Allen and would call upon him again and recommend him VERY HIGHLY to anyone who needs an electrician.
He is friendly, very professional, and extremely knowledgeable with expertise in the electrical systems in older/antique homes.
He arrived punctually, did the job in less than the time that was quoted and adjusted his fee accordingly.

We called Mark to do a fairly simple cable fix for us, but he responded to my call quickly, came at exactly the appointed time, was extremely pleasant and professional and did the job. We would definitely use him again.

I had contacted Mark about the work and he responded quickly to my phone call and emails. He asked about the work details over the phone and came to our house to get an estimation. Mark provided the estimate as promised. He was quick to schedule the work and came on time as promised.

Mark was a true professional. He explained what he doing and how. Once the jobs were finished, he cleaned up after him self and left. He never complained about the small job. We would hire Mark again for future electrical work and recommend him.

Mark was everything you could ask for in a contractor. He responded quickly to my call. He spent time with me on the phone to understand the job in order to save a trip and expedite the work. He came days later as he promised. He was very methodical and neat. He checked in with any questions (best placement of outlet, color of outlet, height of chandelier) before doing the work. He completed the work as I expected it and in less time than he estimated.

Mark was a true professional. He told me what he was going to do during the phone call prior to the visit, he came in and quickly did the job. When he was finished, he cleaned up after himself and everything looked good as new. We would absolutely hire him again for any electrical work, large or small.

A good experience.

This was a small job with some very old switches and wiring. Not an emergency so I was quite flexible on when it was done. Mark came over, identified the broken switch quickly and suggested changing both switches as they were both the same age. I agreed, he did the job and was out the door within half an hour of arriving.

Charged me a total of $46.75, which seems more than fair to me.

We purchased a flat screen to put over our chimney and did not realize how expensive it would be to do an in-wall cable installation! After a very expensive estimate we decided not to use the Geek Squad recomended by Best Buy and purchase the cables and bracket ourselves and hire an electrician. We asked Mark to do the electrical installation and install the bracket and saved a bunch! We were very happy with his professionalism and meticulous work. Not only did he do an exceptional work, he completely cleaned up after he was done!!! He came over to do an estimate and was very punctual and polite. Then he came to do the work, and again he was punctual and polite. He stayed within the time frame and budget he had predicted. We recommend his work.

Quality work, professional and down-to-earth attitude, reasonable rates, high integrity

Mark was punctual and worked cleanly. He paid attention to details and made sure I was aware of the various features of the ceiling fans after he installed them. We even talked about different features I could add on, like changing my existing light switch into 2 switches that controlled the light and fan independently (the fan didn't come with a remote control). I did not feel like he was trying to sell more work so much as trying to make me aware of things that would add convenience. This should go without saying, but he also took no breaks and did not even stop to take a phone call when his phone rang.

My only complaint was that we did have to play phone tag over the course of several weeks before making an appointment for him to come in. I understand he was just very busy at the time, and he did end up calling me.

I inquired about rates among other A-rated electricians on Angie's list, and he definitely offered the best rates, and had the highest commendations. I highly recommend him. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a very honest work ethic.

We can't say enough about Mark -- he is warm, professional, and very reasonable with his charges. We had a lot of work to do in our recently purchased eighty-year-old home, and Mark was quick to respond to our call -- he came within 24 hours. He finished all of his work within a single day and did terrific work -- everything is perfect! Mark was also available by phone to offer advice on how to address small electrical problems. Can't say enough about Mark... we'd hire him again in a second!

We needed to disconnect electricity before we could remove an old hot-tub and a collapsed cabanan in our backyard. We contact several electricians that are highly rated at Angies' list. Mark called me promptly, and agreed to an on-site estimation. He looked at the situation, explained to me how the wirings were done and provided me with several solutions. In the end, Mark did the job and also restored wiring to several other places in my backyard. Mark has been very responsive and very patient in explaining the situation and solutions to me. It has been a great experience to work with Mark. I would certainly ask Mark for help for electrical works in the future, and recommend Mark to my friends and relatives.

Couldn't have been better. He quickly returned our initial call to set up an appointment. He arrived at exactly the agreed-upon time, worked very quickly (but thoroughly), and was exceedingly professional, giving us invaluable advice. For example, we thought we would have to have installed an additional outlet in our master bedroom, but he explained why that wasn't necessary. We were very pleased with our experience and will be calling him again very soon to have new ceiling lights installed. Highly recommend.

Mark installed recessed lighting in four rooms plus a hallway in our house, installed recessed lighting in one room, and replaced many outlets and switches throughout the house. I initially contacted Mark to get an estimate for the work to install recessed lighting in two rooms, plus track lighting in a third. His estimate was approximately $1,000 less than the original estimate I received from another electrician, which is why I chose him. Mark's work was excellent and he was very professional and approachable. After the job was underway, we expanded the scope of the work required of him, which he accommodated graciously and performed with the same high level of quality as the rest of his work. All around, I recommend Mark for lighting and electrical needs, I plan to use him for future jobs.

Exceptionally well.

Mark is the consummate professional, knowledgable, amiable, friendly, and honest. He charges by the hour, but is quite reasonable. For example, when he replaced a ceiling fixture, a ten minute task, he only charged $20. Most tradesmen charge a minimum of an hour no matter how long the job takes.

I think that the work that Mark Allen does is great. He is thorough and careful. He is a little pricey but he offers excellent work in his field. I will definitely continue to use him in the future when needed.
