LANCER CONTRACTING

Overall, we have been very pleased. Where previously we had a clanking, temperamental system that alternated between tropical and polar, we now enjoy a continuously comfortable environment. This includes the attic space that had been previously unheated. The efficiency gains meant that our gas usage actually declined slightly, even though we now heat 30% or so more space.

The electricians were prompt and professional. They explained the level of work required and price before beginning. When additional, unexpected issues arose (due to wiring issues with the previous chandelier), they explained the issues and price before addressing the issues. Overall, I was very pleased with the work.

They were really nice and efficient about taking out the old one and putting in the new one. Right away there were problems with the water heater. They came out to check it and ended up having to order a part that took a month to come in. I wanted a new water heater because I didn't think I should have this much trouble with this one, but they always had a reason why it was taking this long. I had to hook up my heater to a neighbor's so I had hot water during this time. They did put in the part, but it still has never been running correctly. It just doesn't get the water warm enough and they are supposed to be coming back out to check it again.

Their work is top-notch, very professional. David is great to work with, he is very flexible and will work with you to provide architectural solutions. At the end of the job, they had a punch list and finished every detail before signing off. At the end of the project I wrote the following to David: The building inspector signed off on your work today and it looks like we won t be seeing the Lancer crew around any more. Although we re happy to have our house finished, we will miss seeing you all. I wanted to thank you for the amazing job you guys did and to recommend your services to any future clients. Your work was competitively priced, completed on time and of high quality, but I think three things set Lancer apart from other builders. First, was the added value of David Sylva s architectural expertise, coupled with your practical knowledge of building codes and engineering requirements. I remember the first day you came over. We had consulted with no less than three architects about expanding to a rear porch, removing the rear wall of our house and supporting the span with steel beams. None of the architects were confident that the open space we wanted to create was possible. When we timidly mentioned what we wanted to do, you said, of course that s what you should do. You knew exactly how to do it and reassured us that it was possible. And it turned out even better than we had hoped for! Secondly, you were extremely flexible about accommodating our changing plans that evolved as we saw our space after the demolition. At the same time you were not afraid to voice your opinion when you felt we were unnecessarily tinkering with a valid plan. Third, in addition to their high quality standards, I want to commend your crew for the respect they showed for protecting our living space. This extended from little details like removing their shoes when they entered or covering their boots with shower caps, making sure the crew s toolbelts didn t scratch anything to the care they took to protect floors, walls, and awareness of dust control. At the end of every day, the construction site was so clean that we had a several parties in the space under construction. This was true of the exterior of the house as well all trash was removed on a daily basis. If you wish to refer anyone to us for further information, please feel free to give them our phone number.

The job went very well overall. The people from Lancer were responsive and punctual and there were no issues with the quality or the time line. This was a relatively small job, but I would consider Lancer for a larger remodeling project.

They were GREAT! Super responsive, competitive price, very professional, just a great all-around experience. Our water heater broke one day and I called around to several different companies to see who was available and what the price would be. Lancer returned my call immediately and they were really helpful on the phone. Very friendly and professional when they came out to replace our water heater. Couldn't have been nicer... a great experience all around!

The work went very well. We prioritized some work for a tighter time schedule prior to move in and did the rest of the work on a more leisurely time schedule afterwards. Lancer worked with us to get things done pretty much on schedule. A few minor issues that appeared a few weeks/months after completion of specific jobs were remedied promptly without charge or hassle when we reported them. They stand by their work. They have pros in every key area. The people on their work teams were all people we were comfortable with letting into our home, e.g. courteous, clean-cut, knowledgeable. The only downside was the cost; Lancer is definitely on the pricier side and this did give us pause before signing on. However, in the end given the quality of work, service, and convenience, we are happy with our choice and have no regrets. We would definitely use Lancer again. With Lancer, price boils down to "you get what you pay for", and here service and peace of mind factor in on top of excellent quality work.

They were professional and got it done when they said they were going to do it.

They were awesome and I would recommend them to anyone. They have a great service. They are on time, friendly, and very hard working . They can basically do anything. They are awesome. The company is always easy to deal with and reliable as well.

I am not sure if they sub-contract out or not but I do know that they do an excellent job of remodeling what was ruined because of this fire. We have all new wiring, lighting, plumbing, floors, walls and practically everything where the fire damaged the home. They always come when they say they are going to be there, the men are very clean and courteous, and I wouldn't have a problem recommending them to anyone who might have a small job or something as large as this.

They came promptly and did the work quickly as well. They had to take off covers to the heating unit and they did a good job. I was pleased with the service and I would recommend them to anyone. They are friendly and on the ball. The price seemed a little high though.

They were friendly when they came out and made sure to answer all of our questions. I was pleased with the service. They just seemed like down home people that you could trust. They were very knowledgeable and knew how to make what we want happen.

I was able to set up an appointment with Bob Rizza within a couple of days after I contacted them. He and another gentleman arrived at my house, quickly assessed the issue and within 24 hours I received an email from them with the proposed scope of work and cost. They were able to start the work within a couple of days. The work went without a hitch and the quality was very high. I have another plumbing issue in my house and plan to use them again.

We had a great experience with Lancer and felt they did excellent work and were professional in every way throughout the entire remodeling process, which can be long and tiring. I could always get Bob on the phone when I needed to ask him something, and his response rate on e-mail was equally as impressive. The team who worked on our bathroom, which included Sergio, Mario, and Eric, were all fantastic. Lancer charges top dollar for their work (though they were not the most expensive estimate we received and part of the high price of remodeling is due to living in this insanely pricey state) but the quality of their work is first rate and they are VERY easy to deal with in every regard (which almost justifies the price in my opinion). In my experience, their commitment to customer service is unparalleled. Quite honestly, I suspect the person who posted the first negative review had a serious case of sour grapes, as I can't imagine this company doing anything less than great work.

They did a really good job. They did what they said they would do. I had some problems, and they came back and fixed them.

They are good. Their price is a little high. I called them for an estimate to replaced two countertops. Their bid on that seemed a bit high as well.

Utterly terrible experience.

Everyone who works at lancer Contracting is helpful, pleasant and very competent. All the work Lancer has done for me over the last three years has been of the highest quality. The electrician, Eric Markarian, is happy to answer any and all questions by telephone or email and is an authority on all things electrical. The plumbing division is also superb. Bob Rizza, the customer relations man, responds quickly to questions and requests and never leaves the customer in the dark about what is going on with his/her project. All in all Lancer is the best contracting company in the Metro-West Boston area.

Peter, from Lancer, has done the heating/plumbing on my house for years. He was able to give me a fast estimate which was below the other one I received, and for a more efficient boiler. The work was scheduled quickly, done efficiently, and my basement left cleaner than before. We had a problem a few days later and he came over on his lunch hour to fix it. Julie, in the office, is friendly and helpful and has usually been able to schedule work within a few days. I have always had a good experience with this company.

THEY REMODELED TWO BATHROOMS. VERY GOOD JOB, PLEASANT PEOPLE. VERY CLEAN AND EFFICIENT. THEY ARE HELPFUL, AND WILL DISCUSS ANY PROBLEMS, HAPPY TO DO ANY LITTLE THINGS. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

CLEAN, NEAT, EFFICIENT & PROMPT. FINISHED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE. CAME ON SATURDAY TO WITH THE FACING BOARD/DOWNSPOUT TO FINISH THAT JOB IN 24 HRS. FAIRLY EXPENSIVE, BUT CAN'T REALLY COMPARE TO PRICES IN CAMBRIDGE, AS RECENT RESIDENT.
