The roof was 25 years old with no normal leaks except during a recent winter caused by ice dams. Met with Walter and Ryan early in the year to discuss the job. The goal of the project was to replace the roof before other problems might occur and to address the leaking that came from the ice dams of winter. Job included replacing the entire roof shingles, including a waterproof membrane over the entire roof, not just 3 feet from the roof edge. Also, the membrane was to be extending up the sides (under the clapboard for 3-4 feet where roof shingles and walls meet. The Job time table went as expected. The quality of the job as completed was average at best. We had to continually point out poor workmanship issue like large gaps filled will 1/2 of caulking, incomplete corner boards, etc. Since the first winter of completion, and over the past 4 years since, we continue to find new leaks in a number of various places costing us a lot. We're at a point where we may need to replace the roof again just to avoid the continuous stream of unknown problems that keep cropping up. After several call backs and even a visit to the home, HomeSweetHomeBuilders do not stand behind their work. Anyone using them, will do so at your own risk. Nice guys but no shows after they get their money. Another Lesson Learned for us ........... but hopefully one that others can learn from before spending a lot of money for poor quality.
