Gold's Gym

THEY WILL NOT LET YOU CANCEL DURING COVID. They mislead their customers about the cancellation policy when signing up. It is impossible to cancel unless you move far away or have a new permanent medical disability (both require written proof) - even when your year contract is up (indefinite automatic renewal). Even during COVID when they closed down temporarily, they still wouldn't let you quit. Personally, I moved in with my older mother and we are concerned about COVID so will be avoiding gyms for the near future. After explaining this situation in detail to ABC Financial, I am still unable to get out of the membership and will continue being charged $50 a month indefinitely. This would be an unethical policy outside of COVID, but during this time, it is almost unbelievable. DO NOT SIGN UP!

felt like a bait and switch

Summary: This facility is an old warehouse. It is cheaper than BHC, but it shows. It is a bare minimum gym. Pros: It is the only local gym with 16 treadmills. Many weight machines and you don't have problems getting to use them. There seems to be childcare if that is important. Cons: Parking is very poor. Many of the tv's on the stationary bikes have issues (you listen through the external speaker rather than the headphone jack). Many of the televisions just don't work. But, you are here to work out. so should it matter? Get an ipod. It is hot in the summer sometimes. The bathrooms are often dirty. Many of the staff are not friendly (one guy was really nice, though). Bottom line: if you can spend time driving to another place, it will be worth it. If you can't, this will allow you to get a good workout.

They're fine and their location is just a few blocks from my house. I will use them again in the future.

The gym is a bit cramped and dingy and there are always cardio machines with notes on them that they are "in service" or TVs that are missing from the holders they should be in. Don't look up at the ceiling or you'll see dust that has never been cleaned. The instructors for classes have been fabulous though. I really enjoy their classes. I basically went there because they were the cheapest membership around.

The facilities are extremely clean and the machines are well maintained. I appreciate the diversity of the machines and the different areas/concepts they focus on.
