Superb quality and attention

Simply put- Gilbert is the best. We hired Gilbert last year to fix our kitchen, downstairs bathroom, foyer, and guest bedroom. After I stripped the wallpaper of all these areas, Gilbert skim coated and smoothed and primed all the these areas. He also smoothed out our sand-painted living room. He was punctual, knowledgeable, hard working and very reasonably priced. He came back earlier this month to finish 2 more rooms and they look amazing. This is no easy task as the walls had cracks in them, water damage, and old paint. Gilbert's crew made the home look brand new. Not an easy task for a 90 year old home. Highly recommend Gilbert!

The service went so well I would give this company and Gilbert himself an A+. He went over and beyond for us. I am in California and my apartment in Somerville. I was able to schedule the service with him remotely, he made sure he worked around my tenant's time to go see, quote and then when I decided to do some last minute addition to the service he accepted with no fuss. Gilbert was professional, responsive, punctual, and the work performed was in great quality, clean courteous. Worth every penny but oh they were also very reasonably priced. Needless to say I will reuse and recommend their services to all. Thanks Gilbert and crew.

Gilbert sent one of his painters to work with me for two days. The painter was professional and hard working- together we repainted an 1,100 sq foot apartment in 16 hours. I supplied all material and had done most of the prep but his speed and precision helped get the job done in the allotted time. I couldn't be more pleased and I will be considering them for future fixed price painting projects after such a solid performance.

Gilbert and his crew showed up promptly the morning they were to do the work. He had a 2 man crew that worked diligently for the whole day. There was a spot where a stain came through likely because it was so humid and not as dry as would have been on another day. Gilbert came back himself to touch it up and make sure I was satisfied. I appreciated the professionalism that he and his painters displayed.

Gilbert and team did a very nice neat job. They were professional, and efficient, and the rooms turned out very nice.

Gilbert was prompt, professional, friendly, and responsive. His crew did a beautiful job, including painting all around a spiral staircase that is at some points only an inch or so from the walls. They took care of some uneven patch up work in the walls left by the previous occupants and simply did flawless work. I scheduled with Gilbert few months ahead, while the previous occupants of the condo were still living there. When they moved out, I discovered damage to the floors and made the decision to have the floors re-sanded and finished, with only a few weeks to go before my movers were to come (and only days before Gilbert's crew was to start painting). I spoke with Gilbert and he was really flexible, friendly, and calm, and completely un-phased by the last-minute change. He assured me that it would all work out and it did! He changed his crew's schedule without hesitation and coordinated with the floor sanders. I'd recommend Gilbert's company to anyone, and would hire them again in an instant!

There was a 3 week lag before the job was started but that is understandable in this busy market. Gilbert and the crew came and had the job completed in 3 days. They even did some wood repair/filling and small plaster work. The whole house was cleaned up and ready for my inspection. It looks great! I would recommend Gilbert Carey to anyone.

We cannot recommend Gilbert and his crew enough, they are AMAZING.  They are talented, responsive, affordable, pleasant, professional, on time, and they do wonderful work.  We will recommend them to everyone we know!  We are renovating our 1910 bungalow and removing wall paper and paneling left our walls in a terrible state.  Gilbert and his crew came in and saved us, our walls are smoothed and primed.  We will use them in the future!!!

Gilbert Carey and his team were very professional and effective: they painted the interior of our house faster than expected and very well. The job was very reasonably priced. When you call the first time, Gilbert might be busy and might not call you back right away: keep contacting him via phone or email or text and eventually he'll get to you and you won't regret it! I would definitely use their services again.

We were very pleased.  He was responsive with providing the initial cost estimate, agreed easily to the details of how we wanted the work done, and his crew did a very nice job.  We plan to use him again, when the deck needs re-staining.

The repair and painting was done in a timely manner.  The crew cleaned up after themselves each day they were here.  We have used Gilbert Carey and his crew for a number of years now and would recommend them.  I did not handle the payments for this work so I do not know what the cost was.

They were on time, courteous, clean. perfect.

Small miscommuication about where he would and would not paint, but we worked through the misunderstanding and he finished the job in a timely manner. The stain on the house lasted well, but the trim gave up fairly quickly. It is an old house. I would consider him again, but I'd also look at others.

Got three estimates from highly recommended area painters. All were professional and responsive but Gilbert's bid came in lowest and I appreciated his willingness to correspond via email.
Job start wound up being delayed by a couple of days but he communicated well about it. On the start day, he came with about four others who immediately set to work carefully moving furniture and covering everything up. (I had removed all of the paintings and nicknacks.)
They worked diligently for three days and miraculously put everything back in place. I did have to do a good cleaning afterwards to get up the remaining plaster dust but I don't think that could have been avoided given the nature of the job.
They did a terrific job except for one spot on my ceiling which has a swirling pattern. When I brought it to Gilbert's attention, he came back very soon after and redid it perfectly.
If I were to do this over again, I would stay at a friend's during the painting -- had never done this before and hadn't realized how disruptive it could be -- but I have a cat and wasn't sure what to do with it.
Would definitely use his services again if need arises.

Amazing. Gilbert is great. He puts care into his work and makes a painting project very easy on the customer. Also, he clearly treats his workers well. I have recommended him to others and am so happy I found him on Angies list a couple years ago. Highly recommended!
