The larger areas including the blacktop, they do OK on as far as removing leaves. When it comes to cleaning the wells, they do a terrible job. In all of at least 7 cases in which I saw the aftermath of their and quot;cleaningand quot; of the wells using powerful blowers and, only, once a broom and dustpan, their was NO NET DECREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF DIRT AND LEAVES inside my well. Yesterday, they used the loud blowers and blew IN a LOT MORE dirt and leaves than they blew out. And did not use a dustpan, which would have been both more efficient and quiet.
Their responsiveness to my multiple specific requests that they leave my well alone has ranged from non-existent to marginal. They would do better to just completely leave my well alone!! In some cases, they have ALMOST done that, resulting in their blowing in only a small amount of dirt and leaves onto the well and onto(not extremely valuable) things I have on top of my chair in the well.

As there were hardly any leaves to start with in my well due to my daily removal of them with a broom and pan, i was not happy when i heard the loud blowers near my apartment, opened the front door, and found 2 of them had blown about a hundred leaves as well as dirt INTO my well. I then saw a third one walk into my well and start sweeping the leaves. I then thought maybe they would improve the well this time. A half hour later, i found almost all the leaves in my well gone but more dirt in it than before. Also a LOT of dirt and wood chips were left on top of my chair on which i had some ad papers as well as some of my US mail, held in place by a piece of wood.. They had improved on their past performances by using a broom and pan to actually get the leaves out, as opposed to trying to blow them out. But i did NOT appreciate the dirt and peat on top of my mail on my chair. Re the leaves in the yard, they did fine on that.. If you don't count the loud noise.

Craig's has done the yard work and patio/well and quot;cleaningand quot; of the condo in which I live for at least 2 years, not continuously. I have called them and asked them 3 times to stop using the blowers in my well, which are loud enough when in the driveway and very obnoxiously loud when used inside the well next to my front door and living room window, even with the window shut tight.
At times, the workers who mostly do not speak English, have avoided using the blowers in my well, but not today. They started out by blowing stuff onto my outer window sills and into my well by using some kind of spinning device on the peat/wood chips above the well and next to my windows. This was loud. More than an hour later they had not cleaned up the well, so I used my broom and dustpan to clean up the peat and chips that they'd blown in, on my side of the well. About 3 hours later, they--contrary to a promise they made 2 years ago--used their blowers INSIDE my well and ended up leaving MORE peat, dirt, and wood chips on my side and on papers I have on a chair than before they and quot;cleanedand quot; it. I wouldn't object as much if they were using electric blowers instead of what they do use, the gasoline blowers. Even so, trying to blow stuff over a 2 foot high concrete wall is not an efficient way to remove dirt and peat. I asked them to use a broom and pan and do not recall them ever doing so. The best they did was to just avoid my well.

I called upon Craig at the height of the season because another landscape company, CLIPCO, we had contracted with did not show up even after many calls, (none of which were returned). Our very nice lawn had suffered badly from the strange winter weather. Craig has a very big company and yet he came himself the same day to walk the property and discuss what I needed done. We came up with a plan and he mailed me an estimate the next day. (Very Reasonable pricing considering the wonderful work they have done.)
They always call the day before any work. They show up bright and early. I always go out to say hello. They are all very friendly and polite. Craig usually turns up to check on things and takes the time to talk with me about any concerns or new problems that arise. One time I looked out the window and there he was showing one of his men what needed to be done the next day. They have done quite a variety of things, all very thoroughly and speedily finished.
The last time they were here they were out in the pouring rain digging up old gravel and laying in a better bed for parking. I will never need to look for landscaping help again!

It looks FABULOUS!
The front lawn looks more level than we expected it could. We were also pleasantly surprised by how they were able to even out the slope of our back yard. We can't wait to play on it come warm weather!
It's winter now, so the grass looks a bit like a patchwork quilt, but we look forward to the spring and summer as the lawn beings to establish itself.
Also happy with the sprinkler system and the walkway. Everything looks great and is functional.
Craig was great, he explained everything that we needed and did not need to do.

Update for June 2013- everything looks wonderful! The sod took very nicely (even though it was laid in late fall) and is now green and lush.

We've been using Craig's for a couple of years for lawn mowing and spring and fall clean-ups. They've always been very punctual, professional, and they do a great job! The lawn always looks great after they've been there, and they do a fantastic job cleaning up, too

What didn't Craig do to our backyard? It looks fabulous! I was so happy with the results; it doesn't even look like the same backyard. I am no longer embarrassed about the backyard and can now have parties back there and feel relaxed. I will be using him in the future for other landscaping catastrophes I may have. It was money well spent.

We had a minor problem and they came out and fixed it without any questions. The owner also came out to make sure that everything was done correctly. I thought that their prices were very competitive.

Craig's did a fantastic job clearing our entire property of leaves, sticks, and various other forms of yard waste that had accumulated under the previous owners and our first year in our new home. They also removed all the woodchips left from the grinding of two large stumps the previous fall and filled in additional dirt. They also went over our hideously patchy backyard and raked the entire thing clear before seeding and fertilizing the whole lawn. We ended up with a cleared property and a lawn full of grass! They were prompt and professional and we will definitely use their services again.

Response from CRAIGS LANDSCAPING
"This comment is not fair. The member only hired us to cut his weed filled lawn every other week and to do a yard cleanup which was done on time and every thing was cleaned up fine. He later told me that he wasn't happy because there was one plastic bag in his yard and a bush wasn't removed. I'm not sure if my employees missed the bag or if it blew into the yard after, and he never requested the bush to be removed. After he expressed he was interested in improving his yard I provided an estimate for a new landscape which he found someone else to do for $200 less. No problem. I cant make a yard look beautiful by mowing every other week."

Craig's Landscaping was our regular landscaping provider for about five years (2003-2008); we hired them soon after we moved in.

We were very pleased with them at first, but the service degraded over time. In particular, there was one very rainy summer where they got so far behind on lawn-mowing that it looked like we were growing wheat in our front yard. There also seemed to be a reluctance to take proactive ownership of making the property and quot;look beautiful, and quot; vs. just making it happen.

We were generally quite pleased with the plantings.

The only major hardscape project we did with them was to rebuild half of a major retaining wall at the bottom of a steep hill in front of our house. They did it quickly and professionally, and there have been no problems in the five or so years since. Approximate cost was $6,000; we did not get quotes from anyone else.

Excellent. Very good! I am very fussy, and have some special requests about certain plants, areas, etc. and they can totally handle this. They do a very nice job. Exceeding my very high expectations! And they come at a time that is good for me. I have used other companies for lawn service, but this team is by far the best. Thanks Craig's Landscaping!

It had been at least two years since we had last mulched our yard and flower gardens, and there were many areas where weeds had taken over because we just hadn't keep up with the weeding. The two men from Craig's arrived early, walked the property with me to make sure we were on the same page as to what needed to be done, and then got down to work.

The end result is gorgeous. I wish we hadn't waited so long to do it. They did a thorough job digging up weeds (using a hand trowel to get the roots so as not to just pull the tops off) and then put a nice layer of mulch down so it looks fresh and clean.

They did the work on a day during the recent heat wave which couldn't have been easy. They were pleasant and professional and did an exceptional job.

I don't feel comfortable talking about the amount that I spent. They seemed pretty reliable and there's much more to say than that. The workers that came out were fine. I would recommend them to the others. They've done very minimal stuff for us but whatever they've done so far is good. We didn't ask them to do a lot. They just did straight forward stuff. I will use their services again in the future.

The lawn came in great and they added additional seed where there were some bare patches. We're also having them do the lawn care (fertilizing and weed control) to make sure the lawn established itself well. Overall very happy with the experience, they weren't the cheapest bid to do the job, but Craig gave us the confidence that he'd do the job well -- and he did.

They advertise heavily around here and a lot of people use them. I felt like I explained the job but we went back and forth a lot. They didn't overseed the whole yard which I didn't understand and I feel like we communicated well even though I wrote it all down in the proposal.

They showed up at 7:30am and were making little too much noise. The lawn care was fine, but the shrub trimming wasn't really a high quality job. They left a lot of dust and debris on and near our cars.
