Autowater is a professional group of skilled people. The job was done well and on time. The crew was a pleasure to have around. The sprinkler system they installed works well and I'm very happy with the whole experience.

It was fine and they took care of it with a reasonable price.

Everything went smoothly. We got a quote the prior season, prior to some fencing work. The crew was super fast and the system they installed has worked perfectly for this past season. We are very happy with the results and our lawn finally looks great.

It was excellent from beginning to end. Darryl in the office was responsive and helpful. Geoff arrived promptly for the estimate and it was fair and a good price (compared to other estimate received.). He was clearly knowledgeable and competent. He did the plumbing component. The only thing that would have been nicer is if they had supplied the special wifi controller and flow meter that I wanted - I had to deal with ordering it and getting it myself although they installed it. Not a big deal and not worth deleting a star for - it just would have made the whole experience over the top superb instead of just superb.

Great experience from the beginning. Geoff was extremely professional both in his time spent with me giving me an estimate and reviewing options, as well as when he came back to do the plumbing work to kick the project off. The system itself was installed less than a week later, and the team that did the installation was also quite professional, efficient, and informative. They arrived on time, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves when they were done.

I have a small yard, but it has a number of unusually shaped sections which makes watering by hand a nightmare. I had put off installing an irrigation system because of my concerns about the possible disruption to the plants and grass but I finally decided that the time had come. My landscaper recommended Autowater highly so I called the company and Geoff came out to do an estimate. He was thorough and helpful, explaining clearly the impact on the lawn and plantings and assured me that they would try to minimize the impact on the bed I was really concerned about. He also went over the process and gave a clear written estimate. We wanted to experiment with a wifi based controller. Although this was not the standard controller he uses, Geoff was willing to be flexible and installed the controller that we chose. It requires that we be on site to run the system for service, but that was fine with us. We arranged with the town to put in a second meter along with a new water line. Geoff did the plumbing work for the irrigation system. He was neat and made sure that the lines and flow meter were well laid out and conveniently placed. The installation team, led by Adam, did a great job. They covered all the odds spots in the yard with minimal impact to the grass and plantings, and took special care of the one bed I was concerned about. I have had a few minor issues since installation and they were handled promptly as part of the warranty. Darrell in the office is always very responsive and helpful. Brian did a great job fixing a problem with one valve, fine tuning the adjustment of some of the spray heads, and answering my questions. I am extremely happy with my irrigation system and with Autowater. In all my dealings with them, I have found them to be knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend them to anyone considering an irrigation system.

I will try to be objective with my review, but I have to give an overall F rating for the way Geoff, the owner, does the business. *NEW CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF AUTOWATER* TL;DR: I'm a first-time homeowner and do not know about one hour minimum charge for their service. They didn't notify me the policy before the service was scheduled. During service, they failed to finish what they have promised to do, and left just in 30 minutes. Geoff, the owner, refused to either refund me 30 minutes of labor cost or the cost of the service they failed to perform. The story: I first had a lawn care company come and check out my lawn and they said that some areas of the lawn were bad because the sprinklers were not covering them well. So I called Autowater to have them tune the sprinklers and mark the sprinkler heads to prepare for aeration of the lawn. Darrel, the customer service manager scheduled the service for me on Sep 27th and told me the hourly rate of the technician is $120. On Sep 27th 8am, the technician came on time, and adjusted the sprinklers. When I asked him to also flag the sprinkler heads, he said he didn't have the flags and the aeration people will hit the sprinkler heads anyway, and it doesn't matter much. Considering the hourly rate is high, I didn't insist on letting him do it. On Sep 28th, I found that my credit card was charged $120, the full one-hour labor cost. I called Darrel first to ask why it was charged one-hour full instead of just half an hour. Only at this time did Darrel tell me that their policy is one-hour charge minimum and 15 minutes increment. Being disappointed, I asked Darrel whether there can be some discount. Darrel said that he needed to ask Geoff, owner of Autowater. That evening, I marked sprinkler heads by myself. On Sep 29th, Darrel told me that they could do nothing. I then pointed out that the technician didn't mark the sprinkler heads and they should refund me for the service they fail to do. On Sep30th, Geoff got back and insisted on the one hour minimum charge, and told me that I was wrong for "not giving them the opportunity" to mark the sprinkler heads, and also insisted that it is common sense to know that irrigation companies all have one hour minimum charge. Objective comment: Being a new homeowner, it may be my lack of experience not to have asked about whether there's one hour minimum charge. I also should have let them know first about my dissatisfaction of not having the sprinkler heads marked. Geoff, however, was always trying to find excuses and pointing out my wrong doings instead of trying to resolve the issue. Subjective comment: As a new homeowner, it's normal to not know the common *rules*, but Geoff made me feel like I did something tremendously wrong of asking for the refund, and they are always right. They don't have a cooperative attitude for resolving issues at all. I'm sure Geoff/Autowater will reply to this review saying "the customer is unreasonable", and explain things the other way. I believed Autowater when I saw their replies before on Angie's list and chose them to provide service, but future readers, beware of their excuses.

A crew of five men arrived on time in the morning and worked until late afternoon, early evening making trenches with a machine, laying down hoses and installing sprinkler heads.  They returned the sod back to its original place.  The grass has grown back beautifully. An additional worker made all the cuts and connections from my water meter inside the house to the outside.  The plumbing work was neat and clean!  I called the company to have the sprinkler heads adjusted and they were very quick to respond.

Geoff was very professional at our first meeting and explained all the work that would need to be done and all 3rd party coordination that he would take care of (town building inspector and water department for the meter). He split out optional work with separate costs so that I could choose what work I wanted done. He provided brochures that detailed the specific equipment to be installed (sprinklers, controllers, rain sensor, etc.). I talked to a couple irrigation companies and their quotes were almost exactly the same but I chose Autowater because they were more professional and took care of all aspects of the work (another company pointed me to a separate plumber and left it to me to get the meter and back flow installed and coordinate between them). We ran into a few hiccups with the town inspector and water department but that had more to do with the town's use of temporary help than autowater's work. The installation went very well. There was less damage to the lawn than I would have expected and they spread soil and grass seed on the areas that were torn up by their machine's wheels. They walked through the layout of the different zones and how to program the controller with a watering schedule. It's been 6 days since they finished and the new grass seed that they spread is already growing in. I'm extremely happy with the end results and the way Autowater conducted the work!

They do good work but they I started to use someone else. They do good work but I think they are a bit expensive.

I had multiple providers perform this task for us, and Geoff from Autowater was the most professional and competent by far. Scheduling was easy, especially given that I called during sprinkler winterization season. Geoff assessed our yard and irrigation needs,  and explained the various options while taking into account future plans for our yard. Geoff was focused on helping me find a solution to my issues rather than "selling" his service and that was much appreciated.  While $95 for 30-40 minutes of work seems a bit steep, I consider it a worthwhile investment to find a competent service provider. I will definitely be calling Geoff when it's time to re-do our sprinkler system. They also require a credit card when you book. While I recognize this helps them collect more efficiently, I wish they would accept personal checks. Not an issue for a small one-time payment but may be relevant if hiring them for bigger jobs.

Good professional service.  Daryl coordinates everything and is a pleasure to work with.  The technician that came to my home fixed everything (even going to get extra parts back at the warehouse) and made some other improvements that I had missed.  I recommend Autowater to everyone.  Nice local business that does great work.
