They did a really great job! I had a patch that had been done years ago that needed repairing. At their suggestion, we replaced 8' of the flooring in the hallway with new flooring. The repair looks really great and feels very solid. Overall extremely pleased with the work they did, the communication and the price. Definitely recommend The Floor Sanders.

The Floor Sanders team were excellent. They were kind and courteous. They hung plastic all around to limit the dust. They finished mostly in one day, and then came back to do another coat. They did an excellent job. I would hire again.

The work is excellent. I have no idea how they were able to sand old dark painted stairs but they did and the stairs are gorgeous! Very straight forward and easy communication.

The Floor Sanders refinished my floors before I moved into my home. The owner was prompt in returning my call and scheduling an appointment for a bid. The bid was very reasonable in price, but I learned that you get what you pay for. The job involved a light sanding of the floors and refinishing them with one coat of polyurethane. That is what we were told was necessary. I have since learned that the floors should have at least 2-3 coats for maximum durability. After the work was completed the first time, we saw that a large pool of polyurethane had collected in the middle of the dining room floor, leaving a very noticeable mark. The owner of the company agreed that the work needed to be redone, but it delayed our move into the home by another two weeks. After moving into the house, we began having real problems with our floors. For some reason, the polyurethane did not adhere correctly and began bubbling and peeling in numerous places. Usually when something falls on the floor, it causes more peeling. The floors have worn terribly over the last few years and we are now going to have to have them redone.

Varouj and his guys were professional, on time, and helpful. They worked with us when we wanted to do a water-based finish (noteworthy because some other floor finishers tried to tell me I was wrong for wanting this), and they put stain samples on the floor beforehand to make sure we liked the color. We were first-time buyers of this service, so probably had more annoying questions and requests than many other customers, but Varouj was patient and responsive. The house was left clean and as they found it. We had also just had our walls painted, and the guys touched up the places where stain inevitably got on the baseboards. The floors look great and we had no complaints at all. While I can't speak to the quality of work from other floor finishers, the price was very competitive (among the lowest quoted for us, and in some cases about half of other companies' estimates), and the 10% Angie's List discount didn't hurt! Overall, I'd recommend the Floor Sanders to anybody needing their services.

Our wood floors in the kitchen were worn and water damaged, the entry stairs buffed. and we needed a small area of baseboard installed along the wall and around our kitchen island We hired The Floor Sanders to do the job. Varouj the owner came out to give us an estimate in a timely manner, was attentive to areas of concern, and answered all our questions. After receiving the quote by email we hired them. On the scheduled day the company's foreman and assistant were late to arrive (we were told "around 10 am" which made me uneasy because I would have preferred a firmer time). Sure enough, they were off the estimated ETA and didn't arrive until around 11:30 am which cost me time because I did have to go to work that day. However, when they arrived they were very pleasant and professional and after sealing off the area they got straight to work. We came back three days later and the results were beautiful. The area that needed to be patched-in was seamless, the finish smooth and even. They also professionally installed baseboard around our kitchen island. The rooms were lleft very clean and there was a minimal amount of dust that needed cleaning. The stairs which were buffed came out great. I appreciate that Varouj suggested a simple buffing for the stairs that were looking worn rather than refinishing them. We are very happy with the results and would hire them again. Helpful advice. We had moved out all the furniture in our breakfast room and removed all pictures off the wall to reduce the amount of cleaning we had to do upon return. We didn't remove all items from our kitchen counter because I assumed they would be covered with plastic but when I checked in on day 2 I noticed the counter items were removed by the workers. So it's a good idea to clear everything out. There was a fine film of dust in the kitchen cabinet draws because we have gaps in our cabinets. I had to remove all the items, wash them and wipe out the drawers. Had I know I would have either removed the drawers or asked them to be sealed before the work began.

It is difficult to comment on the actual work because I was not allowed in the house during the six days it took to complete the job. I do know that when I came back a week later, the floors looked great. The Floor Sanders did what i expected them to do and did it in a timely manner. That was really important as I had to coordinate movers to take my furniture out and put it back.

If you are looking to get the floors done without a lot of chit-chat and hand-holding these are your guys.  Very effective and efficient.

Never had hardwood floors re-done, so was anxious....very.  This company was superb from first to 'floor finish.'    As always, 3 elements to the quality of a job.
    1 .  Quality of work:
       These hardwood floors had years of scratches, misuse. Now, perfect.  Look  beautiful. There's an 'art' and a science, I learned, to floor refinishing.  These folks understand both.  It's their love, not merely a job. Not one oversight or flaw.  
     2. Quality of interactions with the company:
       They were unusually friendly, reassuring, responsive, responsible, professional, accommodating.   I never had a millisecond of doubt, worry. 
    3.   Price: Was the best of all I contacted....by far.  And, they adhered to their estimate. No 'surprises.'
     Overall: Had heard 'horror' stories where both interactions with company and re-finished floors ended up 'scratched', marred, abused, ugly.  Au contraire, here. Every interaction, from Varouj the owner, to his on-site manager and crew were exceptional.  So refreshing to have a solid 'gut feeling' when negotiating with service providers - I had this from the first contact email.   Trust is key element in hiring professionals; with trust, all is is assured - price, follow-up, work quality, punctuality.  I had no millisecond of doubt or angst, from start to finish.   One example:  I had not considered the hardwood closet floors - they did these as well, without my asking, at no extra charge..... If you want sincere, trustworthy professionals who do exceptional work at an excellent price, look no further. I could not recommend this firm more highly.

It went very well! He also placed white baseboard/ trim along the edges of the kitchen where there was no existing baseboard for no extra cost. We love our floors!

Things went wonderful. If I may digress, I attempted to sand and refinish my original 100+ year old hardwoods. Big mistake. I made a mess of things. I called The Floor Sanders to rescue me. Not only did they fix my blunder, my floors look perfect. And they did it on a challenging time schedule due to me moving in within days of first contacting them. I am very happy.

Original estimate was for refinishing only, however extensive damage was discovered when carpet was removed.  In the refinished portion, there was a  lot of old glue, etc. that also needed be sanded down prior to refinish.  Provider was able to match color of oak on the remainder of the house, finished on time, and the floors appear to have a more durable quality (after 6 months of use) than other providers we have used in the past.  Dust was kept to a minimum and service was professional.  We would definitely use again.

We needed the floor completely re-finished, and since it was a pre-finished floor, the job was even more difficult. The end result was perfect! They are punctual, neat and we were amazed that the entire process went so smoothly. We are a retail store , so it is twice as difficult to work in our space.

Varouj the owner is the only company that would give me quote, advice regarding a small area in the front of the house where tenants left carpet marks. he is very professional and gives good and honest advice. his 2 guys showed up on time, finished the work in an hour, and came back for 2nd and 3rd coats. the job is flawless and achieved desired results. they also cleaned as they go, and left my house in a spotless condition. Highly recommended. Could be cheaper but like the owner said, it's opportunity cost.

They were good, and did a good job. I think that he was a little bit more expensive than another person who quoted but they were very well rated and I thought they would do at least as good a job as they did. It was over $1000 for one room. They were professional and had a very difficult job. They came when they were supposed to and It didn't take a long time to get the appointment scheduled. I didn't have any issues with the job I just thought it was a little pricey. If I had a small job I would use them again, but, I think, if I had a really big job I would choose another company.

They were prompt and they had a bigger job on their schedule but they were still able to squeeze me in. They were able to come on Sunday as well.

I needed to sand the floors of two bedrooms and was on a tight schedule as I needed them completed after I moved out and before the new tenants moved in.   I found Floor Sanders through Angie’s list and they promptly returned my calls and gave me an
estimate over the phone.  They were very responsive to emails and were able to start and complete the work in the necessary time period.  The floors came out amazing.   I wish I had done them while I still lived there!  I thought the price was very reasonable and they threw in a new threshold.  I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the level of customer service and would highly recommend them for any floor sanding job.

This was the third time I've hired The Floor Sanders, starting 20 years ago.  They have always done a good job, and Varouj is a pleasure to work with.  The past two times were straightforward jobs:  refinish all the hardwood floors in new houses we had just purchased - they turned out great, reasonable price, left it neat.   This time the job was to sand down antique hardwood that had been laying under two layers of old tile in an antique bathroom, and to repair a hole left by the plumber.  We ran into a glitch, had to change tactics, and I am giving them an A because of how they dealt with it.  
The repair went smoothly - the workman used the original planks where possible & new ones where necessary.   As for the refinishing, the floor was so covered in black glue from the tiles, you couldn't tell the condition of the wood underneath (Lesson Learned: when you can't actually see the wood, don't let your fantasy run away with you).  They did a great job on the sanding: worked neatly and carefully, practically no dust, removed every speck of black goo, and left the floor smooth as velvet.  However, turns out there were many ancient black water stains underneath the black goo -- ugly!  Really wish the workers had called me in to assess the floor at that point!  By the time I went to check on them, they were already finished with the first layer of poly.  It looked awful - black water stains everywhere, sealed in!  (Lesson Learned: check in often!  do not wait to be called!).  Next day Varouj came to see it and encouraged us to continue with paint rather than poly.  His guys waited while we ran to the hardware store to pick out a paint color, and applied that.  Their work was fine, but we hated the look (Lesson Learned: don't make big decisions in a hurry!  even if the workers are waiting in your driveway!).   After a few days of trying to like it, we decided to start all over again and have them to sand it all off. 
This is where you learn a lot about a contractor.  This was a small job and we were costing them extra time.  Varouj might have grumbled or charged us more, but he was gracious and flexible.  Since we were on a tight budget, we renegotiated the scope of work for the same price (they sanded a second time in exchange for us applying a couple of layers of poly ourselves - takes us half an hour and saves them two trips).  
With another contractor, this episode might have become a conflict ("you should have called me to see it before continuing."  "You should have asked us to",  etc etc) -- but it was not, and the job ended amicably.   In the end, they did the hard part (sanding twice) and we did the easy part ourselves (bleached the wood, did the poly) for the original price.   The bleach worked great - the floor is beautiful.   Varouj is a decent guy and really wants you to be happy.   We would definitely call them again.  

It was wonderful. They installed the flooring and it looks great, they did a good job.

They were very punctual and on time. They were thorough and were fast. They were responsible. They were clean and did not make a mess. Their price was good. They were very good.

The crew worked thoroughly and expertly on friday, and then returned saturday afternoon to complete the work even though the company normally does not work on saturdays. This was in response to our need to get the job done so we could move the furniture back in. The floors look terrific.

Floors were scheduled to be complete Friday 15th but were not finished and dried until Tuesday the 19th. Floors had to be scrapped and refinished a second time becasue the poly bobbled, streaked and caked. Final coat after a second try were still bubbled. Operator said he didn't know why this happened. This was before the heat wave so temperature should not have been a factor.

Job was on rental property. Needed every day to prepare apartment for new tenant. Loosing this time was crucial to my schedule. Outcome of the job was not great.
