 + 0 moreExtremely happy with the service and the overall results. Bert was a pleasure to deal with, professional and made me feel confident that the results would be good. The couch is now like new and a pleasure to sit on again.
Description of Work: Have a good quality, but now 15 year old couch in need of repair. The main seating cushions had become very flattened and several springs in the base had broken. Obtained a quote via email by sending pictures and then spoke with Bert in person to work out the details of what should be repaired and how much it would cost. They repaired/replaced the broken spring and completely replace the inside of the cushions.

Only thing that didn't go as planned was that they were unable to deliver couch back themselves so hired a delivery company who charged me an additional $110--not in original estimate. The delivery company was good, but due to Prospect not being able to deliver the couch, the item came several days after originally scheduled to come.

 + -1 moreHe was professional and seemed reliable. I did not choose his company as his price was higher and charged an additional amount for pick-up and delivery services. I chose another company from Angie's list who received excellent reviews and was cheaper.

 + -1 moreWe called Bert because he reupholstered a couch 10 years ago. Ten years later, Bert is still in business, remembered us when he came over to do the estimate. He graciously agreed to make a second house call so that my husband and I could pick out the fabric together. He arranged for the woodwork to be done by another company (report on them as well), and delivered the chairs when promised (4 weeks total). He did an equally nice job with these chairs, and we have every reason to expect they will still look and feel great 10 years from now.
Description of Work: Bert reupholstered two small armchairs (club chair style) from about the 1950s. Work included tightening the frame, repairing/retying springs, new padding, new fabric, and making new cushions to match. The cost was $600 per chair. Bert also arranged with another company to have the two carved wooden panels and wooden legs stripped and refinished - a separate piece of work, that cost $125 per chair.
