They really bailed me out. I called them. They were there. They took care of it immediately. It was awesome. Any time I have a plumbing issue I call them. They are my first call.

I wasn't here when they actually did the work. I trust them completely. They had access to my house. They did come back the next day and double check it, to make sure that it was working fine and it absolutely wasn't leaking. I use them for any plumbing problems I have. They are honest and fair.

Immediately replied to call, came and repaired immediately.
 Charlie Donners is always professional, reliable, makes sure all details
 are quality work.  I have used him for over 25 years for all types of
  plumbing, heating, bath problems.  He will make sure things are
done correctly.  He has a small crew of wonderful trustworthy honest
guys.  He will come back if any problem and make sure you are satisfied.
I have used him for my home and my rental units.

This was just the most recent example  in a sequence of excellent work done by Donners Mechanical in my home.  These guys are not just professional, they are dedicated to quality service.  In the past they installed a new heating system for me and it was literally a work of art.  They have consistently gone above and beyond when doing their work. They don't just clean up after their work, for example, they have frequently left my basement cleaner then they way they found it - sometimes much cleaner. I rely on Donners for all my plumbing needs and advice including how to clean up the mistakes of other plumbers in the past.

I got their number from Republic Plumbing Supply in Brookline.  I was shopping around, thinking I could just simply replace the flue damper.  However the real problem was the ignition control module.  

I called them late morning and they showed up at around noon.  There were 2 of them, so I was worried that I would be paying double.  I called the office and got a defensive response, the plumber on the phone said "I said $135, didn't I?!".  They charge $135 to show up and then parts and labor.  I will try and update my post when I get an itemized receipt.  

The 2 plumbers that showed up were very courteous and explained to me what they were doing when they were troubleshooting.  They didn't know how to wire the module, but I did have an identical one on my side of the house.  I showed it to them and it worked.  

Billing and method of payment were confusing.  They accepted credit cards, but not really.  In the end I paid by check.  
I would use them in the future, however I do want to see paperwork that needs to be signed prior to the service to cover both parties.  Everything was on the gentleman's handshake, everybody was honest with each other.

I have since worked with Donners Mechanical several times and have been very pleased with the quality of the work. It has been a pleasure to work with Charlie and his team.

Donners is the BEST!   Read the whole comment, because it doesn't get much better than this.  June's routine plumbing task was complicated by an unforeseen breakage of the spigot that turned the water off to the toilet unit. Unfortunately, the plumber hadn't thought to turn of the water to the apartment so there was a small flood in the first floor apartment below me. However, what made the difference was the calm and cool-headedness of the plumber. I know that things happen, so I tend to be calm and cool-headed, too.  The best thing was that Donners's manager handled the problem professionally. The bill for drying the apartment downstairs was handled by Donners.  But there's more, I trust Donners, so I called them this morning 11/22/13 to fix my furnace, but they don't work with hot air setups. The office referred me to another company, but they couldn't come today and it's cold!  While I was unsuccessfully looking for someone to come, Donners called Vanessa from SuperHeat and Cooling (Avon, MA) and then she called me. She came right away, correctly diagnosed the problem as I described it to her as we walked from her truck to my apartment, and literally had my furnace working in 5 minutes. What did I like about that? She told me the truth and didn't charge me for parts that didn't need to be changed. Guess what? She's coming back annually to take care of my furnace. I only want her to have my business. Thank you, Donners for sending me such a super star to help me with my furnace!!!  And I'll only go to Donners for my plumbing needs!

We have been using them for about thirty years! They always do a good job and I've never been disappointed! There was one time that there was a problem with a dishwasher that they installed, but they came right back out and were very responsive to fix the problem!

It took nine days before coming; after at least five phone calls. They sent two men who were there no more than 45 minutes but charged for two full hours. The work was done well, but overcharged. The father used to run the company and was great. It seems to have changed as the Father semi-retired.

When I initially called, they were very helpful over the phone. They gave possible outcomes to avoid a service call. The service person, after he examined, the problem was very clean in explaining the problem and described maintenance procedures. They were quick to respond to phone calls.

They gave us an estimate and the exact day they would be here. Everything was excellent. We've used them before, we were pleased with them then so we hired them again and we're still pleased.

Very easy to contact them, they sent a bill which I paid by check. Only inaccuracy was Angie's list statement that "They will not service your area" (indeed they did) and "The do not charge travel charge" (again, they did) -- the two may of course be related, but I didn't think to inquire about travel charge when I called them because my house is less than 1 mile from their location.

The phone service was excellent, including a polite call asking to re-schedule. Plumber arrived 15 mins early! Plumber was very pleasant, polite, friendly and professional. He even brought his own rag to clean up his footprints in the shower stall. Other plumbers had tried to make this a much more expensive job, by a factor of 20! They're now going to be my plumber for anything.

VERY GOOD, START TO FINISH. PHONE CALLS RETURNED WITHIN MINUTES, AND ALWAYS ON TIME. ASSESSMENT VISIT PLUS THREE VISITS GOT THE JOB DONE.

THERE WAS A SLIGHT LAG IN PHONE CONTACT, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO MATTER. I SPOKE TO CHARLIE DONNER ABOUT THE JOB, AND HE WAS VERY POLITE AND EASY TO COMMUNICATE WITH, READILY GRASPED WHAT I WANTED DONE WITH THE DISHWASHER. MY SON WAS THE ONE HOME WHEN HIS SON CAME TO DO THE WORK, BUT EVERYTHING WENT WELL. WE FOUND THE PRICE VERY REASONABLE.

THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS EXCELLENT. THEY CAME TO MY CONDO JUST AS THEY PROMISED, ON TIME EVEN WHILE IT WAS SNOWING. THEY CALLED AHEAD TO GIVE ME STATUS, ETC.

THIS IS OUR SECOND TIME USING DONNERS AND WE WILL USE THEM AGAIN! VERY PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, PUNCTUAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND NOT CONDESCENDING WHEN WE ASK QUESTIONS. (WHAT A CONCEPT, EH?)

THEY ARE DEPENDABLE AND IF I HAD CONSULTED THEM FIRST, I MIGHT NOT HAVE HAD TO BUY COMPLETE KITS.

GOOD JOB DONE, QUICKLY, THOUGHTFULLY AND WELL.
