Horrible. We received a Gift Card for Straight Shooters for $500 Value in a charity event auction for which we paid $200. We have tried and tried to get Sean to honor this gift card but he blocked my wife. He answered my text and calls until I brought up the card. He simply says to get our money back from the auction that he won't honor it. That auction can't return our money as it was used.

- Overall cost of the job was 56% higher than initial estimate. Unsure about accuracy of overall charge of 105 hours of labor by master carpenter. Quality of work looks good from layman's perspective. - Project start dates were changed several times. - Attentiveness of estimator before project started was low. - Communication between project manager, master carpenter, and customer was lacking at times.

Sean has a wonderful team. Everyone treated the house with respect and did an amazing job. We have done several projects on the house over the last few years and this team was by far our favorite team to work with. Everyone was polite, punctual and had a great attention to detail. Our deck needed a lot of help and now it looks great. It’s now a space we can enjoy for many years to come! I wouldn’t hesitate to call the straight shooters again in the future for anything we need.

They did a beautiful job. They were very detailed and they just did a very great job. They were always on time and they work hard. The pricing was very reasonable and they were very consistent with the original estimate.

My wife and I finally saved up enough to remodel our kitchen and half bath, so we called Sean and his team of Straight Shooters. I met Sean a few years back through a buddy of mine in a networking group, and used him to do a deck on our old house in Sommerville. My wife and I were very happy with the entire process. From day 1 to the completion date, it ran very smoothly. I knew we would use him again if we ever moved to the burbs, and we did. The job turned out magnificent, everyone that comes over can't believe the transformation, from the 90's to 2019. It was a great experience getting a chance to work with Sean and his crew, the carpenters, painters, and laborers for a second time. He had the same crew from 2015 that did our deck, so it was really nice to see everyone again. I wouldn't hire another contractor, ever.

We needed our entire first and second floor remodeled, it included, two full baths, kitchen, dining room, living room, front porch, back porch, and three bedrooms. It was a large job, very time consuming, and Sean and his crew did a first class job. It was very easy to communicate with Sean on what to expect for that week or month. They started the first floor first, and once that was completed, they moved up stairs. The guys were very polite, and incredibly easy to converse with. We have had work done in the past when it seemed like the contractor or workers were annoyed or very short with either me or my wife, but nobody on the crew was like that. They enjoyed taking time to answer all of our questions, and they never were shy about giving advice about what might look better or be more functional. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, and we will be using Sean and his crew again.

Wonderful experience with the Straight Shooters. I have used them for years on many different jobs, from a kitchen remodel to snow plowing, and now exterior painting and carpentry. It's very nice to have a reliable, trustworthy, easy going contractor to work with. Sean and his crew turned my house from worn and tired to beautiful and alive. Excellent. My wife and I have used the Straight Shooters for exterior, interior painting, our kitchen and living room remodel, and lastly, finish carpentry. The biggest difference for myself when dealing with Sean and his crew, is that, they are all easy to communicate with, everyone is on the same page. I have never had an experience with contractors, or painters that were even close to being on the same page. It was very easy to deal with all of the guys. My wife loved the ideas that came from the finish carpenters, most importantly the kitchen backsplash and tile pattern on the kitchen floor. Everyone that comes over is blown away by the custom fireplace, it truly is remarkable. All of the jobs came out the way we wanted, which is unlike every other job we have dealt with in the past. My wife and I enjoyed working with Sean and his crew, and highly recommend him.

I have had Straight Shooters do various projects in my home for years. Sean and his team have done an excellent job from remodeling our kitchen and bathroom, finishing basement, power washing the house, exterior painting, deck staining, replacing rot around the house, plowing and roof raking. We found him through our local hardware store in Acton in 2015, our current contractor was finishing our basement, and was 4 months past his completion date. It was a very tough time for myself and my family, but then Sean came to the rescue and finished it within a month. There is nobody else I would use for any work going forward. He is reliable, an effective communicator, and honest.

Sean and his crew are very courteous and respectful. Work was completed in a timely manner and the house looks great. Sean sees the big picture, listens to the needs of the customer and gets it done!!!!

Excellent. We had some water damage over last winter in our bulkhead area, so we decided to get it fixed and finish the entire basement. We called 4 contractors at first, and Sean was the only one that called us back. We got his name from a neighbor who had the exterior of the house painted. The Straight shooters did a fabulous job for them, so we gave him and the crew a shot. The price was reasonable and the work was exactly what we wanted. Sean joked with us about the only reason why they are so busy is because he calls people back, but he is busy because they are great at what they do. The carpentry was meticulous and the painting was darn near close to it. We will be using them again on various projects in the future.

A neighbor of ours used the Straight Shooters on a master bath remodel and we were really impressed, so we decided to give them a call. The project went as smooth as we could ask for, from the estimate phase to the final sign off by the building inspector. They are very easy to work with, Sean and his crew were able to answer all of our questions, and had very creative ideas on use of tiles, colors, and cabinet accessories. The crew was very neat and clean, and that included the electrical, hvac, and plumbing subcontractors as well. In the past we haven't had the best luck with contractors or for that matter subcontractors who cared about cleaning up after themselves, i.e. leaving cigarette butts all over the lawn, not vacuuming a work space, and so on. We recommend the Straight Shooters, and look forward to working with them in the future.

Fantastic Job all season long! We are on an easement and share a common road. Our driveway turns onto the road and is a 90 degree turn, so could be tricky with covered surfaces after a storm. I never have to wait for Sean and team to come and plow us out. Timing is great also, never need to worry about snow fall covering the pavement after Sean's team arrives. What is unique and welcomed to us is Sean's team clears some side paths to the door and for the fuel delivery guy with shovels! Sean does plowing, sanding and salting. Sometimes will sand and salt only if warranted, so Sean always has us covered. I have other reviews with other services Sean provides because I look at Sean as a go to guy. Grateful for the season, but definitely looking forward to rest of spring and summer!

Sean and team do a great job. Sean is excellent at point throughout the process. We had some trim and repair work caused by poor drainage from the roof over time, some of which involved an unexpected electrical repair once we got behind the wall. The guys were able to accommodate the repair work, Sean was able to coordinate with the electrician and was all transparent and affordable. I was extremely grateful when one of the guys showed us some wiring behind the wall that posed a risk to us! Sean's team also agreed to do our outside deck again, and some inside stairs from the garage. The guys actually corrected some design flaws which caused a bit of wood rot within the trim area. Extremely responsive, overall great experience and I was very grateful for the extended services and support.

Fantastic! Helped with options and recommendations. Great with the quote and scheduling process. Once the job began the guys worked as transparently as possible, very respectful and helpful. Cleaned up afterward very well. Incredibly satisfied and definitely would recommend.

Straight Shooters did an amazing job on my condo’s two bathrooms! I initially reached out to them by email and they followed up wth a prompt response. Sean was extremely responsive and set up a convenient time to see the bathrooms. Within a few days of the visit, he sent me quotes. I decided to move forward with Straight Shooters due to the competitive prices (compared to a few other contractors I reached out to) and the positive initial interactions I had with them. Although there were delays in the start and middle of the project, this was solely due to the Boston City building permit office/employees. Straight Shooters did all they could to keep the projects going in a timely manner. Leading up to the start of the remodel, I picked out and ordered all the materials that were used in the bathrooms. It was a learning process, but Straight Shooters was there to answer any questions. Jim was there every day working so hard to make my bathrooms perfect. He did excellent, high quality work and truly went above and beyond all expectations. Not only was the craftsmanship exceptional, but he listened to exactly how I wanted the bathrooms to look. Jim offered a lot of input and helpful information along the way. There were a few changes made during the remodel and Sean was extremely transparent when it came to costs. The end result was amazing and I could not be more pleased with my new bathrooms! All the employees I interacted with were friendly, hard-working, quality people. I would not hesitate to hire Straight Shooters again. Overall, an excellent experience.

Professional, polite and got it done!

Fantastic. The Straight Shooters were easy to communicate with from start to finish. They have an excellent architect who helped us with the plans, and opened our eyes to many different design ideas. The carpenters did impeccable work and left the job each day spotless. The plumber and electrical crews worked well together. Overall this experience was the best we have had with a contractor. My wife and I highly recommend them, and will be working with them in the Summer to do a half bath and basement remodel.

Amazing experience. Sean and his crew not only did top notch work, but they were punctual, hardworking, very friendly , respectful and cleaned the site every day! They played with my dog, went out of their way to be quiet and kind and paid attention to every last detail. I plan to use them again next Spring. Sean always got back to us within hours to answer any question and addressed every concern. This company is proud of the work they do - period!

Straight Shooters responded to my initial call right away, arrived the next day and provided a cost and time estimate. They were accurate to their estimate, with the addition of a few days and fair additional cost due to uncovering severe rot, black mold, multiple areas of leaking, etc. They were excellent with communication, providing timely requests of materials needed, and updates with questions as needed. Anytime I asked a question, I got an answer within a few minutes. The work itself is extremely skilled as well.

We found the Straight Shooters because they are all over the place working in Acton and Concord. Our friends were very pleased with the work they did, so we were eager to give them a call. Sean came out and gave us an estimate, they were incredibly busy, but they were able to squeeze us in. The most impressive thing about the Straight Shooter team was how they had incredible attention to deal. We were very happy with everything, from the power wash to the carpentry. We have already switched to have the Straight Shooters plow our driveway for the winter, and soon to have plans to have them remodel our kitchen. Thanks Guys We will see you soon. Amy
