PRIME PAINTING

I suppose my first mistake was to take the recommendation of a real estate agent for a painter to paint the interior of our house. I did not get other estimates, but now I realize that I should have done that because other painters were willing to give me an estimate based on the painting job per room. Mr. Deacon, owner of Prime Painting, proposed a contract where we were to pay him $13,200 to paint some interior walls with the work to be completed in 6 weeks starting December 29, 2017. Well, $27,000 and FOURTEEN weeks later, we told Mr Deacon we had had enough. In his contract, he quoted $55 per hour for 40 hour weeks. Even though we told him that 9 am was a good starting time each day, he never showed up before 11 or 11:30 am and stopped promptly at 3:30 or 4 pm. I kept track of his hours and with each invoice, I realized that he was actually charging us $70-75 per hour. We ended up with only 4 rooms plus hallway and small bathroom painted for $27,000! I WARN OTHERS to not hire Prime Painting unless they are willing to have the project take TWICE as long and to be overcharged!
