John Aiello offered three approaches to choose from least expensive to most expensive, which allowed us to weigh price vs the look we were going for. Option 1: Refinish existing pine floor and add new flooring (oak, pine, maple, etc) to new space. Option 2: Remove existing floor and cover entire space with new flooring. Option 3: refinish existing pine floor and cover new space with flooring freshly milled from 100 year old wood. We chose Option 3 and it looks amazing! The freshly milled pine has rapidly aged to match the existing flooring. From start to finish John has been a professional and diligent contractor. When something didn’t meet his aesthetic standards after installing some floor boards, he removed and replaced them. I highly recommend John and has team.

John inspected, measured, and ordered the wood. Due to temperatures, he painted the wood at his house (in a garage?) in a warmer environment. He removed the damaged wood (on all sides of the house and a ladder was needed) and replaced all of it in one day and the new pieces perfectly fit in with the rest of the house.

John replaced several damaged boards in our 1950s oak floor and then refinished the entire floor. When he finished, it was impossible to tell the new boards from the old ones. As he knew we were going to be on vacation, he suggested doing this work while we were away. When we returned, the work was complete, the house aired out and the work site spotless. It couldn't have been easier. John completed the work on time, on budget and did a great job. A year later, our floor still look great! I strongly recommend John for any interior or exterior carpentry work.
