We've been using ABC Cesspool for pump-outs for 20 years, but this was the first emergency call. It's about time I logged a review for them on Angie's List. I would give them an A for price, but I don't have anything to compare them to.
One the day of the appointment the person who came was very punctual and did a great job. No issues. Found the septic, dug up, pumped out and put it back like before. It was a breeze.
He proceeded to tell us we would need to have test holes dug for a new system. He called the Concord Board of Health to arrange a test date (2 weeks hence) and announced he would be back.
After learning of this 'failure' news, I did some research as to what the options were. This is a reasonably complex subject matter yet they did nothing to educate us as to what some of the options are. When I asked for references, they blew me off as to imply - I have been in the business forever and we are the best. When I called the office to get a cost of the pre Title V inspection - I was greeted on the phone by Stacy - and quot;what do you wantand quot;? That was the icing on the cake. I am reminded of the quote. “He has lulled himself into a false sense of competence.” (author unknown)
After several days of education and speaking with alternative suppliers I switched to another contractor to perform the test hole evaluation.
