DH and I were driving to take our dogs up to Clark Creek to go hiking when DH saw two small kittens abandoned on the side of the road out in nowhere. Suckers that we are, we stopped, got the kittens, turned around and went straight to Plains. The folks at the practice took us immediately back to a room and looked over these new kittens. Both had eye infections. One had no eyeball in one eye and was mostly blind in the other eye and the other would have some eye issues.
After some discussion with the vet, they were put on medication and we took them home. The vet was extremely supportive throughout our fostering of the kittens and when the blind baby was big enough, she fixed up her missing eye beautifully. Now both kitties are spoiled rotten and living with my brother and his family. (No rescue would touch either of them with a 10 foot pole.)
They were wonderful and really worked with us to care for these two abandoned little souls.
They've also cared for our own cats and have done a great job with them on routine care and on end of life care. I highly recommend this practice.
