When they first built the house my tennents that moved in complained about the electrical. When I called him to advise the concern he was quick to say that no one complains about his work. Later I had problems with my plumbing. He wasn't interested in helping with that warranty issue either. Next, rain was coming in to the house. Someone checked the roofing and said that looked ok but the flashing around the chimney wasn't sealed properly. He went up there and caulked for me and hopefully that helps. The builder hasn't addressed that either. Later I had some molding come off and now I have a problem with my ceramic tile. He told me that wasn't his problem either but rather the guy he subcontracted to do the tile work. Well, doesn't the builder take responsibility under warranty when he hires his own subcontractors? I ended up hiring a structural engineer to confirm that the ceramic tile flooring problem had to do with the foundation. The subcontractor is waiting for the builder to agree to help pay for some of the problem and I am the one getting the runaround. I joined Angie's List to find someone to help me with my ceramic tile since the builder is not agreeing to hold up to his warranty.
