Before I brought my car into the dealership I went to the service desk and asked for an estimate on having the shocks and struts replaced. The service advisor printed me an estimate and I made an appointment. I brought the car in for the appointment and when the dealership call for me to come get the car they stated that the shocks and struts where tested and were not worn out (98,000 miles!!!!!!!!!!!). I requested that the shocks and struts be replaced anyway. At the same time, since the car was in for servicing, I also authorized that the transmission and rear end fluids were to be changed, as well as the hood struts, and an air bag sensor. On the second appointment, the shocks and struts were changed and I was billed for all of the services. I was not surprised at any of the charges, other than the charge for the changing of the struts. This charge was $201.29 higher than the quoted price. After discussing this with the acting service manager and then the sales manager, I was told that the quote was only for labor! Who in their right mind goes into a dealership and asks to have an item repaired and is quoted only for labor and no parts? The sales manager stated that he could not make a decision on this due to the fact that I had not purchased the vehicle from that dealership! I guess I just got screwed out of $200.00. The quality of service is good but the management is very lacking. Be careful of this service department and get a signed written estimate.
