Electrical Service
The house we are living in was damaged by Hurricane Katrina, and sat vacant for nearly 5 years. We moved in and began repairs. When I turned on the ceiling fan and the living room ceiling came crashing down (the roof had been leaking, the sheetrock was soaked, and the vibration of the fan was all it took) I noticed the gleaming copper wire in the attic. The squirrels had eaten all of the insulation off of the wiring. George Harris, and his assistant Kerry Plaisance, have rewired the whole house.
They started at the box and ran wire for all of the rooms up into the attic. The first time they came, the first thing they did was to install fire alarms in every bedroom and every hallway; to comply with the current building code. We did not know about this requirement, and are grateful that they put our safety first.
Since we are repairing one room at a time, they come back each time we have another room gutted; they run the wires, put in new boxes; then they come back and install the outlets, switches and fixtures after we get the drywall done.
Because we are doing a room at a time, the job is very small for them, but they are always willing to fit us into their schedule.
