We found Mr. Hamm to be very professional . He returned phone calls promptly during the time that we were making arrangements for the work. Work was begun on the scheduled date and completed in the timeframe that we were expecting. I would be glad to recommend this company to anyone needing foundation repairs.

First I'd like to state that Leland Hamm's quote was 50% of the quote I received from another company. I'd like to thank Angie's List for saving me $5000. Leland Hamm and his crew of two additional workers installed several underpins. I don't remember the exact number, but it was around 10. They dug the initial holes by hand which means you will not have a backhoe in your yard digging huge holes and tearing up the yard. These holes were about 2' by 2' and 4' deep. They then come back with an auger and drill a round hole about 8 feet into the bottom of the original hole. This is all filled with concrete and re-bar to create your supports for the foundation. I watched them as the foundation was slowly being lifted into place and they really know what they are doing. They constantly stopped and monitored both the inside sheetrock and the cracks in the brick to be sure that all was going as expected. They removed all the waste dirt and even spread some of the better dirt in a couple of low spots that we have in our yard, but 95% of the dirt was clay and unusable. The yard was left completely clean when they moved out.

The job was performed in a timely manner.  He told us he was booked out for a certain period of time and we agreed to wait for him.  He inspected the house, gave us a price and finished the job as agreed.

Mr. Hamm and his crew provided us with a high quality repair of the foundation on our enclosed sunroom on the back of our house- which appears to have shifted on the foundation due to multiple issues:  1. it was added as an afterthought and built on top of brick pavers instead of an actual true foundation, 2. multiple 113+ degree days and 3. lack of rainfall this past summer. After receiving a quote from another local company that indicated we needed $16,000 worth of repairs, we hired a structural engineer to assess our home's foundation. The structural engineer was actually the person who recommended the specific type of structural supports that our house needed based on the fact that our house was basically built on swampland and the engineer recommended Mr. Hamm since he was qualified to install the type of system we needed. Mr. Hamm's repair provided us with a better underpinning system at a more reasonable cost ($5000). The only delays we encountered were due entirely to weather and the ground being too soggy to work in our backyard. He has a small crew that has worked with him for many years (10+ for both I think). His crew worked extremely hard and paid close attention to details- including trying to minimize damage to the yard/grass. All of the residual soil was removed and the crew even remained behind to help my husband put the gate back up that we had taken down to give them better access to the yard. We had to lose some of the bushes in order to make the repair but they would have had to be removed regardless of whoever performed the repair since they were up against that section of the house (& were planted too close to the house by the previous owner anyway). We are naturally hopeful that we won't have to have any additional foundation problems with our home so we hope this is the only repair we will need to call on him to perform. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr. Hamm to anyone in this area who needs quality foundation work done. We would also strongly encourage anyone with foundation problems to spend the $500 cost for a structural engineer up front- it was obviously worth the cost for us.
