Child Care - Center
It was terrible. The building is old and dark and gloomy. Lights are never on, and it's very run down. Staff rarely smiles, and whenever I would go to pick up my child the staff would be sitting around playing on their phones instead of tending to the children. When I would drop him off in the morning no one would come to the door to greet us. Instead they would just be sitting around either talking to each other or playing on their phone.
My son claimed another child bit him on the finger, and he said Ms. Bambi made him bite the child back on the finger. He repeated the same story three separate times without prompting. I spoke to the daycare center about it, and she immediately got defensive and denied it. I asked her to look into it, and I never received word. The next week I went to remove him, and when I told them it was his last day Bambi got upset and told me I needed to provide a 2 week notice. I repeated it was his last day, and I wanted to collect his things. The owner who is also Bambi's mother came over, and when I complained to her of the situations I had witnessed Bambi said that I was wrong. Excuses were made, but she never apologized for the actions. The owner did apologize, and told me I should have come to her sooner. Perhaps I should have, but I was just not comfortable with the place after all was said and done. I don't like being called a liar. I don't like being given a bad attitude when I leave my child in your care, and I don't like the fact that no investigation was made when I did come forward with a complaint.
