Complete fraudulent company. Service call-Rent house #1, 9 year old unit: they said we needed a new one. We bought a new one. Service call-Rent house #2, 5 year old unit: they said we needed a new one. I got smart and called another company. Sure enough, the other company changed out the power board which was under warranty and it didn't cost a thing. We also have a "Preferred Membership" (with Doug's) on these houses which we are supposed to get annual maintenance, no overtime fees etc. However, they do not honor the program, they did charge overtime fees and we have never had anyone call for a scheduled maintenance. To top it off, nobody will call back if you have a complaint and because they had my debit account info for a completely different house, they were able to take money out of my account to pay the bill I was trying to dispute. So my advise-Use a more reputable company that cares about service.

"You had another tech from another company go out and misdiagnose the system. We have documented pictures. The Doug's technician gave you the part only repair estimate to do an open refrigeration system repair and replace the TXV. You were never given repair estimates to replace a control board. You had a grounded failed compressor out of warranty on the system we recommended replacing. Found the system cooling, the tenant called another company out before us. When I arrived I hooked up gauges turned on the system and found it to be cooling. No kinks or issues existed in the copper lines client had me perform maintenance while working over the system and I found the previous company had detached the txv sensing bulb. I put the bulb back in place to check and found it to be stuck open when mounted properly. I removed it from the mount so it would keep cooling for the time being. The txv will need to be replaced but the system is cooling at the moment. Sent txv change proposal will need to verify warranty if client wants to move forward."

Not the Doug's Service Company we used to know and could depend on. 3 weeks to repair the system. Wrong diagnosis of the AC system. Over a week of delays caused by employee vacations. Called several times and told a return call would be made which wasn't. Unacceptable from a Service Company like Doug's

(2019) Disappointed in Doug's Service Company's incredibly inflated plumbing bill. Overpriced! (2020 update) Last year, I expressed how inflated Dougs Plumbing bill was. This was in a rental. Well the tenants just told us, "Water has been seeping under the floor where that toilet was 'repaired." Hubby, who finally has some vacation, went to Thibodaux to check it out. Apparently the "Master Plumber" didn't want to repair the flange last year. He simply added a wax ring - didn't remove the other wax ring. That's what I was charged $366 for - a wax ring. The floor was 2 years old. Hubby had to replace that. I'd love to put a pic of his beautiful work, but don't want it mistaken as work by Doug. I attempted to upload pictures of the shoddy work. Not sure where they went. Be sure, I'll post them somewhere. Doug's plumber for this particular job was not Master Plumber work. And, as a landlord, I'm very aware of plumbing prices. I continue to state, "OVERPRICED!"

Terrible experience! Horrible customer communication. Grossly overpriced! After $2500, my AC STILL would not have been fixed. Do yourself and favor and find a smaller local business to fix your problems. ($400 for a $40 capacitor, $300 for a $30 breaker box, $1900 LABOR ONLY for compressor installation) When I called to dispute the bill, I was finally told "I'm not sure what you're asking for. It costs what it costs. Rouses is more expensive than Wal-Mart, right!?" Are you kidding me!?? Don't "Call Dougs"

The most personable & respectful & technically knowledgeable people in the industry. Punctual to a fault (they drown you in texts & e-mails & phone calls). There pricing is a bit steep; however, they do stand behind everything that they do. The reason that I didn't give them an A grade is because I find that they can be a bit pushy in attempting to upsell each time that they come to perform A/C maintenance.

Technician Ryan Melancon came out and accessed the problem. He repaired the unit and also informed me that the unit needed cleaning. I told him to clean it also. He then checked the refrigerant and said it was a little low, so I told him to add what ever it needed. The unit has been working very well since this was done. Thank you Doug's and Ryan

The technician Kenny came prompting to deliver the service beyond my expectations he even took pictures of my air-conditioning heating unit so that I can know what is going on in the attic so I can address them and we did an outline to address the issues.

By the time they showed up, the system stopped running entirely. They determined that the system was not functional and not repairable -- and they then proceeded to do the tune-up anyway! They charged me approximately $139 for the tune-up, AND charged the service charge claiming that they ran diagnostics on the system. Now, there are several problems with this scenario. 1. If they ran diagnostics and determined that the system was beyond repair, WHY do the tune-up at all? 2. If they did in fact do diagnostics, then they should have been able to tell me what was wrong with it and what it would cost to fix it. However, they NEVER provided any written estimate to repair the system. And they didn't even provide any level of detail as to what was actually wrong with it. 3. I asked for a quote to replace the system, and they never provided that either. When I got the bill, I called Doug's to make the case that the "Tune-Up" should not incur any service charges. They agreed, but said the Tune-Up did not include the diagnostics that were performed. I said I did not authorize any diagnostics. They said that my handyman, who was onsite, authorized the work. Now, my handyman and I have worked together for years. He would not, could not, and did not authorize anything on my behalf. This is where it gets even more distorted. Doug's decided to change their story. They mailed me a new invoice, this time with my brother's signature on the work order. My brother was not at my house at all that day. He could not possibly authorize work on my behalf. So only one of two things could have happened: 1) they made an innocent mistake and got the work orders mixed up. 2) something not so innocent happened after the fact, involving "copy and paste" on a computer. Bottom line I insisted they could not justify charging me for the diagnostics and also the tune-up to the broken system, but they refused to remove either charge. They were very rude throughout the whole process, threatening, and hung up on me when I was trying to plead my case. At that point I decided never again deal with Doug's. I've since asked other homeowners in the neighborhood, and in the New Orleans area, and learned I'm certainly not alone in this stance. Prior to that incident, approximately three years ago I hired Doug's to do some AC repair for a rental property I own in New Orleans. That system had been a real lemon. It died after a year, still under warranty. I had it repaired, and then it died again the next summer. I did not buy it from Doug's but decided to give them a call and they came out and quoted me about $1100, and I had the repairs done. That AC died yet again and I replaced it late last summer. I hired a new company and told the tech I had just paid $1100 last year and he immediately asked why would I do that when it was still under warranty? I told him it was Doug's and he shook his head. I then relayed the "Tune-Up" incident to him and he also was in disbelief that they would tune-up a broken system...

Daniel Tabor was our technician, he was very personable, professional and knowledgable. He came early before his appointment which was very appreciated since the A/c was out. He worked very fast and got it going very quickly. He spent time with my husband and explained what and why he was doing. He talked to us about how to improve our air and all the ways we could save and finance these improvements .
We have lived here over 40 years and have never had service as good as this. I can't say enough good about it.

Daniel kept in touch with me through out the whole inspection. He gave me all my options.Took his time and did not make me feel like just a number, and fixed my unit that my old ac people have been giving me excuse after excuse and bill after bill for repairs I probably never needed. Love these people and I am so very glad I heard their jingle on the radio when I was on my way to work after sweating my butt off all night  Thank you Daniel for being a great ac guy and to Dougs for having the great sense to know that a patient, qualified, thorough employee equals very very happy customers. I am going to take out a yearly maintenance agreement and stay with these guys.
