Quality of work is quite good in the end. Tile work was exceptional in the masterbath. Far beyond what you see in a typical home. Original painting crew was awful. Never on time and defied what I asked them to do (had a mind of their own). Southern Touch had to bring in another crew from another sub to fix things and they did the very next day. Fixed and repainted everything in one day what the original crew took 2 weeks to get wrong. The workers and foreman for the actual general contractor were wonderful. Very respectful and cordial. They were the biggest asset of this company. Especially the on site foreman, Brian. Never felt uncomfortable with them in my home. Not so with the origianl paint crew, however-when they did show up. Main issue was with the billing. Bill sent at halfway point was very inaccurate. All of the additions we requested were on there but none of the deletions were subtracted. Explanation offered was that he was unaware of those deletions or money we spent instead of him, or that side of the ledger was done later after the job was completed and he would reimburse me later. We reviewed the discrepencies and agreed to a reduced figure. When the new bill came, it still left off some items. Do I think that this was intentional? No, not really. I think the company is growing too fast and is somewhat loose in its accounting and its lines of communication between areas inside the company. Just think they need more manpower i.e. a business person running the business side of the ledger. One more thing. If you decide to add something and are told "no problem" that is easy to do. Make certain that you get a firm price on it before you agree to do it. Any changes at all that you add, no matter how small they are in your mind, add up to sizeable dollars. It was also very difficult to get an exact itemized breakdown of what you are getting billed for regarding work in a certain area. I said I would use this contractor again and I would probably do so with much tighter parameters in place prior to beginning the project because they do good quality work and they do care about the finished product. One thing I did forget. The allowances for materials was simply unrealistic in the original estimate given for expected cost. To stay within those costs I would have had to buy very low end materials on everything....tile, granite, fixtures,etc. It made the expected cost of the remodel look much less than it turned out to be. Make sure you research that on your own and I suggest you buy your own materials to mantain control over that part of job. Also, projected time was to last 6 weeks and it went 11 weeks and it was then we decided to not do some of the original things we wanted to do.

Overall an excellent experience from a more than qualified contractor. Extremely pleased with quality, workmanship, punctuality, and communication. Didn't try to up-sell me and gave good advice for current style and technology. Will definitely use again.
