Had the Payne co. give me a quote on plumbing work. The Quote was $1600.00. $90 an hour. I had them change out faucets on 4 sinks, install 1 sink and fix one pipe. All materials were supplied by me. I chose not to have them replace a bathtub and a shower. They worked 4 hours one day and 4 hours the next day. I get a bill for 1600. I call them and talk to some girl ok we will fix the bill. Didn't happen and I get another bill for 1600 plus intrest. I called them at least 6 times to fix the bill. they worked 8 hours and used less than 50 worth of their own supplies. Then I get a bill for 1900 plus, and a call from their collection attorney. He was able to get the bill to $770 which was fair. The plumber guys were great and new what they were doing except for turning in a proper bill. This was 6 months of h*** trying to get a correct bill. I probably will not use them again. They will submit the quote for payment, not for what they actually do.

Even though the supervisor in the plumbing department at Payne came through in a very professional manner, after we contacted him by e-mail through the company website, we won't be using Payne again due to the rude, unprofessional ladies who work the phones and the unprofessional performance by the initial plumber who came out.
The first plumber to come out admitted he did not have the equipment to snake out the plugged up system and said he loaned it to a co-worker and he would return as soon as he could that afternoon. He never showed back up and we could not use our washing machine, tubs, or toilets.
When we called back the next day to tell the Payne office the work had not been completed, the ladies in the office said they would put the issue on the list and someone and quot;may be out todayand quot;. All the while, we were stuck without use of our facilities. When no one showed up, I contacted the supervisor by e-mail and he called within a few minutes and said he would send someone out. The same worker who showed up the first time apparently got chewed out by his boss or had a chip on his shoulder and copped an attitude, but the other guy with him handled things well.
They temporarily fixed the plugged up system and brought out a camera the next day to locate the problem. A pipe to the septic tank had broken and they left. The supervisor called back and told us what they had found and gave us a price, but they couldn't fix it until the following Monday since it was Friday. Another weekend without adequate plumbing.
Two workers showed up the following Monday with all the proper equipment and got the job done.
One of my pet peeves would have to be hiring someone to do a job and watching the meter run while they are on their personal cell phone talking right in front of me regarding their personal matters. The first plumber who came out had his phone glued to his ear more than half the time he was here and once when I approached him to ask how things were going, he put his finger up to his lips and told me to hold on he was on the phone.
The worker operating the digging machine had his phone up to his ear as he was operating the heavy equipment with a cigarette hanging from his mouth. Apparently, the job was and quot;routineand quot; for him and he felt confident with what I felt were distractions.
Overall, the supervisor carried the ball, so to speak, for the rude ladies in the office who worked the phone and the workers who chalked up the labor time while chatting on the phone.
I waited a whole month to cool off before I wrote this review so I could be more objective.

One of their master plumbers and his journeyman arrived on time on Tuesday Morning and completed half their work by noon. ( They had to come back Wednesday morning to complete work because of the Granite installation had to dry for 24 hours. They completed there work by noon. Two days later my daughter used one of the outdoor spigots and it would not turn off, I called and they sent a different plumber within the hour and he replaced the spigot at no charge it was defective. I have had no problem since. They were on time, quick and efficient. Will definitely use again when need. Office staff very polite and helpful.

We used Payne once, and were happy with their services. My husband called them a second time for the drain cleaning. Instead of going from the house out into the street, Payne went from the street inside the house. It turned out OK though. My husband thinks the people in the office are very nice.

We have lived in the same house about 34 years, so we've needed Payne for several types of service. It's nice to know they will do a great job.

They came to diagnose a problem with my 2yr old unit. They discovered a freon leak. They put the freon in. About a month later they showed up first thing in the morning unexpected. I made them come back the following day I was available to be there. They were here about 6hours and about 1 1/2 of that they were sitting around smoking waiting on parts. I recieved the bill and it was way higher than I anticipated. The bill was $1000! It should have been only 6hrs at $75hr. They are just too busy and not satisfied with them. I won't use them again!

Really don't have too much more to add than what was already said about the company. i know they have a lot of work and keep busy but they seem to always are available to do do what we need done. I think this is a locally owned business where the owner takes an interest in personally knowing what goes on and hot the work is done. this is the impression I get.

We have used Payne five times in the past three years, and they have been nothing short of professional during each visit. Their employees have always been fast, reliable and knowledgeable, fixing our problems in short order. They have never went ahead with a change of scheduled repair without first discussing it with us. We will continue to use Payne for all of our plumbing needs.
