Paid Mr. Scott to re-roof 4 rental homes with 3 tab, 25 year Shingles and 15 lbs felt, and 1 inch roofing nails. After paying him, and questioning why the shingles were not laying straight, he said the sun needed to heat the shingles and then they would all lay down straight. Several weeks later I went over to the properties and inspected the work. The sun had been out and the shingles were still not straight. The amount of the overhang is not at all consistent around the houses. Some overhang is 1 1/2 inches, some almost none at the corners of the house and some 3 inches, which hangs down and looks sloppy. Some of the shingles at the valley's meeting where already coming up. Very sloppy. When I called him, he argued with me over the amount of overhang, but said he would call and meet me to look at my concerns. He never called. I had also paid him to replace some of the decking that needed replacing. It looked like that was not done because the shingles still dipped down in that area. This summer my carpenter and I went over to the houses to inspect the area and determine if it could be straightened out. Upon inspecting by lifting up edges of the shingles at the edges of facia, we found that the felt had not been replaced on the homes. In places, the brittle cracked felt was remaining, in some areas no felt. His invoices show 15lb felt. When I called Mr. Scott to complain, he said I got a good deal on the new roofs. This guy is a scammer who does sloppy work and wants to be paid the second he finishes the job. Never heard from him again. Stay away from Lee Scott roofer.
