Let me start by saying I am VERY pleased with Mr. Cross and his crew.  They were punctual, professional and the quality of work was great.  I have nothing bad to say about this company.
With that being said, there was one issue that I feel like I need to put on here.  His bid was the lowest of 6 roofers.  The reason being, he was off on his bid by 9 squares or roughly $1,900.  Although I feel bad about his mistake, if he would have required me to pay the difference, it would have cost me $1,000 as the next bid was a little under $15,000.  After receiving the invoice for the additional squares, we spoke on the phone and he told me he was standing by his original estimate and that the invoice was accidentally sent from the office.  This alone will make it where his company is given a shot at any job I have in the future.  He knew his mistake should not cost me money.  Stand-up guy and company in my book.
The price I paid him was an "A" but the resaon I gave him a "C" on price was that if his bid would have been correct, there would have been 4 other bids lower than his.

They did an excellent job. They were so efficient and Mr. Cross came almost every day to make sure all work was appropriate. They did a great clean up each day and they worked so h****** the roof. I was overly pleased and would highly recommend their company to everyone. The reason I chose to get my roof done by Cross Roofing is because of Angie's List and their BBB rating. I always check both, after a bad experience with a well rated vendor on Angie's List.

They came out promptly, did the repair, and the price was good.

i checked out many other roofers in the area before I decided to use Cross Roofers. I also went on Angie's list and checked out every company in my area.   Cross Roofers came out on top of my list.   They were really nice to work with and the price was very fair.  I will be using them when I need to replace my main roof.  I have learned to trust them .. so far.

Cross Roofing did an overall good job replacing the roof on my house and the crew seemed very friendly.  I was very pleased with the look of the roof when they were done.  However, there were several things I thought could use improvement: 
1) while I saw the crew, I never actually saw or met Mr. Cross, which made me a little uneasy and I wondered if he were keeping a good eye on his crew.  Somehow they miscalculated the amount of shingle bundles - twice - and had to order more and come back to finish the job at a later date.  But they did finish and they did stick to their estimate. 
2) the crew didn't 'clean' the back yard because they were frightened of my dogs.  I was told that Mr. Cross would be coming back to pick up the back yard and sweep it for nails.  That never happened.  There wasn't a lot of debris in the back yard, hardly any, so it wasn't a big deal to pick it up myself.  But that fact that Mr. Cross was supposed to return and do it, and never did, kind of put them in the catagory of all the other companies that "vanish" after the job is done and they have their pay check in hand. 
3) the only other thing that bothered me was that they didn't take down my satalite dish and roof underneath it, instead they roofed around it.  When I questioned them about it, I was told that this is what they usually do and that they can roof around it in such a way that it doesn't leak.  I guess I'll have to take their word for that, since they are the professionals, but it still made me uncomfortable.  I should have insisted they take it down. 

I'm not sure if I would suggest this company to anyone else.  While I have focused on all the things I didn't like, I will admit the overall roofing job was well done.  But at the same time the things they didn't do really bothered me - and you can often tell the most about a company by the little things they either do or don't do. 

If you do use them, I would suggest that you take a stronger role than I did and insist that everything gets done to your satisfaction - before you pay them.

Mr. Cross came out to measure and give an estimate at the arranged time. He was very professional, asked a lot of questions, and made very reasonable suggestions. When we agreed to have his company do the work, he directed me to the business where they purchased materials so I could select a shingle style and color. His crew showed up promptly on the day and time agreed upon for the work.  The work was completed in a timely manner, and the workers were courteous and professional. The roof looks great! The workers also did an excellent job cleaning up. No shingle pieces, paper, or roofing tacks were left behind.

Came promptly and on time. Installed everything very well. Great job!!!

AWESOME!!! Ken Cross is the BEST!! He knows his roofs, I'll tell you that! DId an amazing job, hauled off the old roof, left my yard clean (I only found one roofing nail); made me feel valuable and that I was in good hands! I would highly recommend!!

I used Cross about 13 years ago for replacing my roof after another contractor had stripped the roof and never returned and it rained for next five days. Cross came out and wrapped my house until the rain stopped so they could finish the job. For this reason, I used them this year. I was very well pleased and the workers were very professional and courteous. They came in the morning and stripped the back half of the house and reshingled and replaced vents and turbines. They came back the next morning and did the same thing on the front of the house.
