My Landlord told me that I could get my Gas Wall-heater fixed, and he would reinburse me, so I looked around for someone, and found Mr. Cooks on a yellow-pages website. I called him and he came out at the exact time and date we agreed on, and he looked at the heater. Mr. Casey(with a small amount of assistance) dismantled and removed the broken part from my heater (A Thermocouple/Pilot Light Assembly) He had me pay a $35 Service Charge upfront and took the part to find/order another one. I didnt think to get a reciept for the fee, and the next day I asked him to drop by and give me the bill with an estimaded cost... he added in an additional $55 Labor Fee because "$35 wouldnt be enough to cover his costs for shipping the part." he said the part would be in the next day and took my cash payment (With the additional cost of $66.18 for the part itself). The next day he came in and replaced the part, and with some effort got it working and put back to gether. It still works fine and keeps me warm. I was just put off by the high cost, lack of reciept for what he paid for the part, and failure to properly quote cost. Overall he was extremely cordial, polite, and prompt. I would gladly use his services again, as long as they are not as expensive. I am sure the high cost was due to the rarity of the part and age of the appliance.
